Thanks very much for the update, Tim. For those of us who couldn't get to Phoenix it's great to see the results in a timely fashion.

Any idea when Tentative Field Assignments might be available?

Discussion: TENTATIVE field assignments

Just a big thank you for deciding to once again post TENTATIVE field assignments shortly after an entry deadline. It is really helpful and much appreciated.

Hopefully players will read and understand that the listings are TENTATIVE and could possibly change depending on circumstances.

Mark,
Any chance Steve might bring his traveling Academy to Albuquerque? There would likely be plenty of interest.

Dave, thanks very much for the detailed explanation. We certainly understand why you discontinued publishing the tentative field assignments but it's a real shame as that was quite helpful information. Given the definition of "tentative" you would hope that people understand things may change but evidently not.

I thought you did a very good job with the "guestiimation" of field assignments. Perhaps you might consider revisiting the subject in the future.

Thankfully we already have hotel reservations, just trying to get mentally geared up for the fields we'll be on.

Thanks, JBTexas but that's not what I'm referring to. The comprehensive list you cite shows every game on every field for the whole session.

What I'm looking for is a simple list that was done well before the final team count and composition was known. For example,

Men's 60 Major: Arroyo Grande
Men's 60 AAA: Sunset Park
Men's 60 AA: Sunset Park

Something like that. Since there's only about 2 1/2 weeks until Session #2 begins, perhaps there will be no "Tentative Field Assignments" list this year.

I cannot find any listing for the "Tentative Field Assignments" for Session #1. What is posted is the "Game Schedules and Brackets" for that session. Of course it will take time for the actual game schedule to be determined for Session #2 since the entry deadline was September 2.

The Field Assignments list simply gives the expected locations for each of the divisions and age groups. For example, 60 AAA teams play at Sunset, etc. I believe this list was available in August last year as we used it as the basis for choosing a nearby hotel.

Last year, well in advance of the Las Vegas Worlds, there was a "Tentative Field Assignments" list posted. It was very helpful and seemed to accurately reflect the actual placements. Does anyone know if such a list will be coming in the immediate future?

Another great thing about the Nightmare is their customer service. You can't beat it and Kevin will take care of any issue with the bat.

This may have already been brought to your attention but there is an issue with the 65 Silver Division schedule at Desert West.

The Dugout 65 (KS) has two games scheduled at the same time- 12:00 pm on November 17.

Does that mean your earlier projection (Oct 8) of field assignments for men's 65-80+ is no longer valid?

Discussion: Has anyone had L5 spinal fusion and returned to good playing form?

Bogie, I would second the comments of taits. I've had friends who underwent the procedure in either the cervical or lumbar regions. The results were definitely mixed and the risks significant. You would certainly want to make sure your surgeon is highly-experienced (and successful!) in that exact procedure and the hospital/facility where you go is topnotch (to avoid complications and the very real threat of an MRSA infection).

Discussion: Renewal of SSUSA card...online link

I do have an active link to "Renew Online" and when I click it there is then a page with another link to go to 2016. But when I choose the 5-year option (I'm eligible for an older division next year) for $60, my shopping cart is showing the membership to expire after the 2019 season. The card should really expire after the 2020 season (2016,2017,2018,2019,2020- 5 years).

Any idea how to get this corrected?

Discussion: Nightmare bat approved

Thanks for your detailed and informative answers.

I respect your hesitance to rate the performance of the Nightmare bat. That speaks well of you and the inner confidence you must have in it.

The timeline you provided is much appreciated. Your reasoning is sound and the customers should come as the word gets out. I, for one, am willing to give this bat a try if only to support your efforts. And hopefully the performance will fit my skill set.

Now if you could only offer a different color...

Good luck and please keep us updated. Here's hoping you have found the "Holy Grail" of bats.

tattooball, your devotion to bat design and honoring your friends is admirable. I want to try, and like the bat for those reasons alone.

IMO, ignoring the durability issue the Ultra II remains the bat to beat. Many pretenders have come and gone without matching the power of the Ultra.

My question to you would be, how does this Nightmare compare? The durability appears to be far superior but what about the actual hitting quality of the bat? I've seen the video of a big guy belting 350-400 foot shots but he could probably hit one out with a wiffle bat.

My next question would be this. Above you state that "Right now I am just selling the bats I have and working on the next one. This is the worst one I have made and as time goes on they will change rapidly."
-When will the next generation of this bat be available?
-What improvements can we expect?

Keep up the good work.

Another possible conflict noticed: In the 50s AAA division you have CJ&S Express playing 50 Caliber at 11:00 am Friday on Field 1 at Victory Lane.
But CJ&S Express is also playing Shark Sports at 10:30 am on Field 4 at Rose Mofford in the USA National Championship game.
