Thanks for the input JT. The program will be in the beta testing mode for just a bit yet and I think you will find we value that input and will adjust. We do have full help screens and videos going up shortly.

Discussion: Missing 1st Base Before the Throw Arrives

I am interested in clarification on this one.

If a batter hits a ground ball to the infield and the runner beats the throw to first, but misses first base. Is the umpire to signal safe because he beat the throw even though he missed the base? Or does the umpire make no call?

If in fact that is an appeal and a runner scored from 3rd base before the appeal, does the run count?
I would be interested in Stick's interpretation.

This seems to leave too much gray area. What if a ground ball to second and the fielder tries to tag the runner but the runner stays in the baseline and to avoid the tag misses second base but goes by it. Same scenario, would a runner on third score if according to the scenario above...the out at second base has to be appealed?
Would it be considered an appeal, but still a force out?

Is it too soon to start talking about breaking up that dynasty?

I think this is a good common sense rule. Never noticed it before.

Do a search on the internet for it.

Here is 1 search result http://www.softballhitting.info/softballcorcompinfo.html

You are comparing apples to oranges by equating the percentages in the BPF and trying to convert them to distances of a batted ball.

The difference between 1.20 and 1.21 is not 1%.

The 1.20 and 1.21 are better defined as versions of a bat, with the higher rating the hotter bat, but it doesn't mean 1% hotter.

Wooden bats are at 1.15 according to some of the searches I did.

Take a look at this link that explains http://phys.csuchico.edu/baseball/POBActivities/POB/BPF.pdf

Dave, the 1 up rule would be a welcome change. Was it seriously considered?

Tim, I disagree with you on playing the lower division. Let teams work throughout the year to win back to back.

SSUSA is doing a good job with divisions as is. I think Tim is almost by himself thinking that teams should be broken up. But SSUSA always interested in feedback, just giving my 2 cents worth with my post.

Swing, I think we are agreeing with each other on moving more teams up. On the other, if it went to 3 divisions instead of 4, I would suggest reclassifying all, not just the major and major plus together.

Hi Nancy, we play in the brickyard every year. Last year we had 3 teams in it. Always a good well run tournament. We are trying to coordinate for a couple of other major plus teams to come play in it this year. Hopefully we will have some success.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Instead of looking at number of tournament wins for a year, make it number of top 2 finishes. When evaluating the Worlds, automatically bump top 15% finishers.

I have always thought 3 divisions were plenty.

Discussion: Factors in defining what a good hitter is

All of the above Stick, plus hitting for the situation, not just clutch for your at bat. Being able to adjust to go opposite field, passing it down to the next batter if you have to just get on and save the HR. Reading the game situation, then do your job for that situation.

I wish we could have had enough to go this year, we planned on it up until the last few weeks of the deadline.

I understand SSUSA has a contract to hold it at the same time for a few years yet.

But what if it was held during the week after the Vegas nationals? People could just have an extended vacation and not have to plan travel twice.
