June 26 paul0784 Men's 60 218 posts | Bill Curry was my best friend in the world. He was over in Ireland with SSUSA these past two weeks doing something he absolutely loved to do "Play Softball". He traveled over there with his girlfriend Jen to get away and have some fun. I just heard this morning that he died of what they believe was a heart attack after dinner 6/25/13. I am so sorry Jen you being there alone without the BIG GUY. I am so saddened by the news I felt compelled to post this here. Bill was my best friend in softball and like my brother and he will be sorely missed. He played for the Hannington/Bay State Bombers 55 from MA. He was actually the CO-MVP in 2011 when the Bombers won the Triple Grand Slam in Phoenix when he hit a modest .912 for the tourney. I guess that would have been the highlight of his Senior Softball career at 57. He was loved by all his teammates and family and I just wanted to give a shout out to him on this board because he deserves the best from the game he loved to play. We miss you already Bill, just remember keep your head on the ball when you try to jack. Love you buddy!!! Paul Casey Coach Hannington/Bay State Bombers |

June 28 paul0784 Men's 60 218 posts | John, thanks to you for the kind words also. He was the ultimate teammate and friend. He would give the shirt off his back and sometimes did. He loved to play softball and just hanging with the guys. Thank you! |

July 1 bernie Men's 55 77 posts | I got to meet Bill when the Hannington's boys came down to Wilkes-Barre a year ago this past weekend. I got the chance to meet him and all the guys there from my home state (Watertown)there and have to say they were one of the nicest group of players we had the chance to compete against. I do wish to pass along condolences from not only me but all the guys from our Roadhouse Blues 55 team. I know there will be a big hole in the hearts of all his teammates. He will be sorely missed.
