May 12, 2004 T.Burk 49 posts | KC SPA I talked with a memeber of the KC 50+ board about their meeting on Monday. One of the big issues was suppossed to be about the poor quality of softball that this league uses. It will alsop be used in the July 9-11 KC SPA tournament. Our team is planning on going to Glen Burnie, Maryland to play rather than stay in Kansas City. Last year's tournament used a very poor Worth 44 core softball and the ball that was purchased for this year is even worse. As I indicated to those teams we have played earlier in the year I would let you know what is going on in K C, and the word is -not much. |
May 12, 2004 Walk 192 posts | I play on Tim's Thursday night team and I can tell you the ball is one of the worst I have ever seen. Some would rate it worst than a cork centered softball. As far as we know there have been 7 homeruns hit so far this season and I have 6 of them. As the weather gets hotter the ball gets softer so if you are looking for a tournament where a good 44/375 softball is used then this would not be the place to find such a softball. It is a joke when the upper division of the league has outfielders playing in closer than they would in a good co-ed game. So if you like to look at 8 infielders then come to the tournament in July but if you want to play softball I would suggest you do not. If you love dink, dink, and dunk then this would be the place to be but if like like to hit a good softball then this would not be the place to be. Walk |
May 24, 2004 MTaylor34 Men's 65 27 posts | I have received the flyer and entry form for this tournament. It is stating they will be using a .47 COR 525 Comp ball. Is this a false statement? Would someone in the know please post a response. My team was planning on coming to the tournament, but I would like to know the straight scoop on the ball that will be used. |
