suggestion for SSUSA
I have a suggestion for the Vegas Tournament.
(And I know its a HUGE tourney with many different brackets of all sizes)
Have the bracket games start 2 hours after the RR games.
Last weekend in the 55 major, there were about 20-25 of the 35 teams sitting around the ball park for about 2 hours to see if they were one of the 8 teams that had to play on Friday night.
The teams should have been able to been back at their hotels resting, healing, enjoying Vegas etc.
The brackets could have been put up online after the RR games and had an hour for the teams to get back to the park.
Unless you we 2-0 and scored lots of runs, you had to be at the park because two of the middle of the road teams (where they ended up in the standings) had to play that night.
Either start the games later of just make the bottom 4-8 teams play .
This ways it lets most of the teams enjoy Vegas (or wherever) in between games.
Just my two cents worth
(and thoughts of most of the teams that had to come back to the park at 5pm and sit for an hour then go home)

Coop ... In a "smaller" tournament, that would be a good suggestion ... In the case of the World Masters, with 564 teams playing 1,837 scheduled games, with 34 of those teams being in your bracket, it's not feasible ... And it worked out for you, since you drew your first round game in the earliest available time slot (5:30 pm) Friday evening ... Good thing you were there and avoided a forfeit! ...

That bracket was online less than 20 minutes after the last seeding pool game concluded ... I know because I seeded your group and posted it for the on-site Director ... If you want some (frustrating) fun, download any of the Master Planning Grids and let me know how you would have done it ... But pay special attention to the "blacked out" boxes .. Those represent the time slots we can't use because of local league restrictions ... Your suggested two hour delay would leave a lot of teams justifiably upset! ...

Thanks for being here!

Dave,
I know it is almost an impossible job.
And you do a great job doing it
I was just throwing out an suggestion for next year.
I just looked at the 55 major bracket.

coop ... I'm reasonably certain there won't be any more fields or any lesser number of local league conflicts next year ... And there will likely be more teams ... The only upside is that Hollywood is being completely redone for the existing two and a third field is being built ... That's three more in the inventory ... But the reality is that this is an annual exercise in stuffing 560+ teams into about a 540 pound sack! ... Don't expect a 2-hour pool and brunch break before bracket starts!

We should just go 2-0 and not have to worry about it..lol
CYA on the field.
