Jan. 7, 2017 lewbo 2 posts | ACL Injury My new year has started with a ACL injury from skiing looks like it is headed fro surgery. Just curious on feedback on recovery time and experiences anyone might have had. I am 53 years old. |

Jan. 7, 2017 Benji4 Men's 55 289 posts | Lewbo I had ACL surgery. Dr. used my hamstring to repair it which meant a shorter recovery time. I believe your own hamstring, your own patella tendon or a cadaver tendon is used. Depends on your dr. and your body type. Also it depends if you did cartilage damage or not on recovery time. Rehab is painful, but most important along with reaching full extension and flexion, or you may limp the rest of your life. I was playing again with a brace in 5 months but limited. I was pretty close to normal at 7 months. Good luck, do the rehab and take it seriously. |
