| Sept. 1, 2018 Bob21 47 posts | Rocky Mountain II Back to the topic... The facilities at the Rocky Mountain tourney are some of the best in the country. We played at both the A and B complexes and you wouldn’t know the difference. Infield’s were good, and yes, the grass was a little long in the outfield (and as an outfielder it did make you sprint to the ball...sore legs after each day), but that grass was thick and full and had very few weeds. Can’t say that about the facilities at the Midwest in Rogers, Arkansas (almost Shadow Rock grass fields quality). Pros of Aurora Sports Complex: Location, fields, room for BP, restrooms, concessions, weather, 320’ fences, thin air, dugouts, etc. Pro/Con: Heavily patrolled parking lot..lol Always a good time in Aurora. How only three 55M teams participated was disappointing however. This tourney should be on many more team’s travel list. |
