Sept. 11, 2018 Chief144 Men's 70 160 posts | Remembering 9/11 Let's take a minute away from softball and remember what took place to our US 17 years ago today. The US as we knew it was changed forever on that day! Many innocent lives were lost, people just like us just going to work, police & firefighters who responded were among the nearly 3000 lives lost! Those of us that were in the Military, our lives were changed in the blink of en eye. Families had to watch as their loved ones were shipped off to a country most had never heard of before and are still being sent today. Lives are still being lost each day! Thanks to all who have served and are still serving today, military, police and firefighters! While we love our softball game, the 1-1 count; what type of ball or bat we use; what fields we play on, don't really mean that much compared to what some have lost! Thanks, CMSgt Win Downing (Ret), AF Command CMSgt |

So 9/11 happened after my watch, but I too am grateful that we still have young men and women who will go keep us safe. I love them all, as well as those who lost their lives on 9/11. I am grateful to live in this great nation and will go to my grave recognizing that I lived better than 90% of the people on this planet. I will never take that for granted. Thank you for reminding us. |
