Ratings Clarification
I'm trying to understand when is it determined that a team should be bumped up to a higher level. I've noticed some other teams have already been bumped to higher ratings mid season due to their level of play.
Can someone help me understand when and how this determination is made.

If a Major team has a record of 6-0 (total score of 140-105) against Major plus teams this year (2 of the wins being against last years World Champion)and its clearly obvious by everyone at the fields including the umpires that the team is playing below their level, how are they not moved up prior to Worlds?

Shouldn't this be up to SSUSA and its directors to identify this prior to Worlds to ensure we are all on a level playing field given the time and money it costs to travel and compete in this tournament.

van35 ... There is a general overview of the Ratings system contained in an article on this Message Board ... It's the bottom one of the pink "priority messages" at the top of each page of the Message Board: TEAM RATINGS • Guidelines & Procedures (Rev: 12/15/2015) ... That should answer your general theory question ...

There is an apparent underlying specific team inquiry referenced in your post ... Respectfully, we don't have the time to engage in a new game of "stump the staff" right now as we are readying the launch of the 650-team World Championships in less than a week ... Obviously, this specific team is of concern to you, and that's fine ... But for you to make them of any concern at all to SSUSA, something more than a vague rookie-first-post by an anonymous poster lacking any acquired credibility here is going to be needed ... Please send identifiable (as to YOU and the TEAM(S) involved) correspondence by snail-mail to 9823 Old Winery Place - Ste. 12 - Sacramento, CA 95827-1720 or by email to info@seniorsoftball.com, with "Rating Inquiry" in the subject line, making your argument ...

We very rarely comment publicly on the ratings of specific teams, most often when the team initiates the process ... If it's something we think needs to be addressed, that will happen sometime in mid-October at the earliest ... Ratings are "locked in" for the upcoming World's ... Thanks ...

If a team gets moved up a level (i.e. aaa to major or major to major+, etc) does each player on the team roster “carry forward” that new rating? And does that new rating remain steadfast even if the player moves up in age division? And lastly, if “the team” moves up in age level, do they too retain the new rating classification? Thanks.

See everyone in LV, stay safe, and good luck to everyone.

H˛ ... [1] = Yes ... [2] = Yes ... [3] = Yes, IF six or more players from the younger age team roster age up together ... If five or less, the new "older" roster will be reviewed and the rating may be adjusted if appropriate ...
