Nov. 17, 2008 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | NorCal Turkey Bowl We played a NorCal tournament this weekend at Pleasanton and we had a blast. DeMarini distance balls and 1.2 bats. Wooooohoooooo. Big Fun. Saw lots of Macenko's, Combats and mostly Ultra 2's. Sal,from the Mavericks and the all world universe he lives in was there with his two sons I've heard so much about and yes one of his boys can out hit Dad and that's saying something. Sal is the best of us, the best player with the best attitude and he's worth the price of admission all by himself. I got to play shortstop and remembered painfully all of the moves I used to have. I've got some soul searching to do before next year. Saw Pete which is always a treat. Stoneman and his monsters from the East Bay. No Dice and the Reds with Tim Reed who's almost all the way back from his hip surgery. Way to go, Timmy. Thanks Bob Seagren for putting on a great tournament for all of us, the last one most probably for me this year. |

Nov. 17, 2008 4x4 Men's 65 601 posts | Wow - here we were in the MIDDLE of NOVEMBER with mid to high 70's weather playing ball ! Even got a little sunburn. The balls flew hard and long. It was like a players reunion out there. The competition was solid and the comraderie outstanding, everybody grinning just because we were there. A very pleasant weekend was had by all. That's what it is all about. What a great way to cap off the (local) year. And - Las Vegas waiting a few days away............ |

Nov. 17, 2008 softballer Men's 65 594 posts | angus73 who did you play with? |
Nov. 17, 2008 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | Hey Pete, Yes, I agree. Stoneman and my cat have become great friends and he gets along well with my roomates. We had a good time. Good balls and good bats. What a treat. We never want to play with a lesser bat and ball combo do we guys. And we need to let all those involved know it so we don't get caught in the big movement that's around to dumb down us and our equipment. |
