March 28 Mike M 44 Men's 60 7 posts | Turf vs Cleatsw Need new softball cleats. I have decided on New Balance because of size (14) and width (E). I have always worn cleats/spikes but I hear of alot of people wearing turf shoes. Is it just a personal preference or are there advantages? I play 1st base and at 6'5" 300lbs I am not flying around the bases. I look forward to your replies |
March 28 softballer Men's 65 594 posts | r most "kids" now wear turfs! |
March 28 Harri Men's 70 65 posts | r Mike, Just purchased a pair of Boombahs. Was told that they were very comfortable and they are. Also bought a backpack. You can get them online. The shoes were about $45. Got both for $107.00, included shipping. |
March 29 Fred Scerra Men's 80 542 posts | r I still prefer the feel of the cleats when I play outfield but when pitching I will use Turf shoes at times. |
March 29 #6 Men's 60 1173 posts | r Go WWW.TANEL360.COM , I can get you 20 % OFF OF ANYTHING. We wear the shoes,TURF AND CLEAT IN LOW AND MID, great shoes with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. |
March 29 southpaw Men's 70 1077 posts | r 3N2's (turf) are very comfortable. With cleats--feet hurt all weekend. Now, with 3N2's I have no sore feet. |
March 29 BruceinGa Men's 70 3233 posts | r About a year ago there were great thing mentioned about New Balance's turfs. I don't know of anyone that has acutally worn them, sorry. I bought some Boombah's last fall (2007 model) and can't believe that they are now showing much wear on the bottoms. I figure they might last another two months. Tanels are great shoes and are probably what you need. Btw, I also can get you 20 percent off Tanel products when you order from www.tanel360.com. ;) You can email me for info at b_fairchild@hotmail.com. |
March 29 zonk 55 posts | r Nice offer 6, thanks. Also, this will be my 2nd season using the Rev-D shoe. This is a combination cleat/turf. It is sturdy, yet comfortable; and, available in mids, & different colors. |
March 29 zonk 55 posts | r Just saw your offer too Bruce. Thank you also. |
March 29 #6 Men's 60 1173 posts | r zonk, the REV D is what I wear and love them. Have a good year ! |
March 29 Jimmy#7 12 posts | r I like the Mizuno Mid Lite Blur 9-spike they weigh about 1lb.and I play outfield and I've had them 2+ year's.Lou at Sportsdiamond will make you a good deal.I paid $22 and I have a pair sent every year to me for back-up's.The Easton Mid VRS I've had for 3yrs.have a larger rubber spike and weigh 3+ lbs.I use them for REALLY MUDDY condition's.Good Luck and WATCH THE IN FIELD BOUNCE'S. |
March 29 J R 251 posts | r #6 Kenny can't you get Tanel to make them in Burnt Orange and i will quit wearing Boombah. Boombah makes a great shoe but playing league ball and tournaments they only last one season. I have a pair of New Balance the best thing about them is they come in 4eeee width. I do not like the flap on them. |
March 29 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | r jimmy7 the mizuno blast is the same type 9-spike but with turf spikes also on the bottom(combo),and are real light(IMO they are the lightest on the market).you can get them in mid or lo now. prol i have with the tanels is that the bottoms clog up if u are in wet conditions,my blasts don't. |
March 30 #6 Men's 60 1173 posts | r JR, I have been trying to get to make them in burnt orange, maybe next year. |
March 30 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | r hey #6 why burnt orange,isn't that TT territory shouldn't you want red(:0) LOL |
March 30 AlleninGa Men's 60 113 posts | r Like most Senior players, I have tried a lot of different shoes. My favorite was the Tanel 360 until I tried the 3N2 Turf shoe. It is by far my favorite to date....I find it light weight and very comfortable...........I also think it is a good looking shoe. |
