Doctored Softball
We played in a fund-raising tournament and you furnished your own ball, 44/375.
I need the recipe how to doctored a ball, the opposing team was using a ball in which the cover was skin tight,(maybe it was dippped/dried/microwaved), if that's what you have to do.
It was like a rock, from innings 1-7, they hit rockets and the ball did not change in composition, after seven (7) innings, it was still a rock.

kirk, that is why teams should not bring their own balls.we used to do that in the 80's.most of the teams did.

Comparative test. Drop a few from same height on cement or other firm hard surface and see which bounces the highest. Relatively speaking they should be close if same core and comp.
If not I'd wonder.

Neither does looking at the stamps and taking it as what they are.

Wonder what shape the bats were in if the balls were modified.

Sounds like they were using a "Baden" ball. It is like a base ball compared to a "Trump" ball. I have never broke a bat before. Broke a new Ultra & a Launch in B/P last yr., using Baden balls. Hardest low compression ball on the market.SPA uses them.

taits,
We go back a ways and I resent that you would accuse us of using altered bats !

As for as the balls, I bought them from a company in CA., they are stamped .44/.375, so let it rest, you too Gary Kirk !

I don't think taits is accusing you of using altered bats. Hard balls destroy bats, is what he is talking about. IMO

Kenny,
There was no intention of that. Inferred or otherwise.
I speak from personal knowledge and had no clue to ordered balls mentioned as well as having bought tons of balls from factories and could have them stamped what I asked for or without any at all. I still have some. But as having studied balls and bats for many years in the past I also know they both can be altered even with out that in mind as far as balls are concerned at least.
I see no mention as to brand or tournament name.
Only that you were more likely there where ever it was, and that could be anywhere in the US.

Mad Dog, we will be playing in the Central State Qualifier in Georgetown on May 20th & 21st. It is a SSUSA qualifier hosted by Keith Parker. Also we will be Dallas on June 10th & 11th for the Texas State Championship. Hope to see you there.
On the rodeo circuit, I believe mutton busting is legit, we would have to call in our expert to confirm.

ken go to www.priceline.com and look at their prices, then bid on them(i start at about half of their original price ex-$40-50,i bid $20-25,etc).you can bid on all,1-5 stars,i usually do 1-star as i'm only looking for place to sleep and shower.most of the time i can get an extended stay america.the only prol is that once you bid and they accept,it is a done deal,no refunds.
