April 22 cheezhed1 Men's 70 47 posts | I haven't been on the message board for several years and when I asked a basic question("Need your Input") about the Combat Centenrian bat, it ended up with answers and discussions that were completely irrelevent to my question. While the wandering answers were off target, they were still entertaining. For those of you who kept to the topic, thank you. For those of you who didn't, what the hell were you talking about? :) :) We, as seniors, have earned the right to ramble on about anything and everything including the game we love. As we get older we become very opinionated and sometimes lose our train of thought. I can personally testify that memory is the second thing to go and I forgot the first. Again, thanks for the informative responses and also for the misguided, but still entertaining, replys. |
April 22 crusher Men's 75 524 posts | Hey cheez, just got a Centenrian 30oz Wednesday. Used it Thursday in a tournament for 1st time. Have been swinging a 26oz Demarini Classic (a double wall alum bat). The Cent 30oz actually seems lighter then the 26oz Demarini. Oh, the Cent is a balanced. Was batting into a 30-35 mph wind. In 10 swings only got solid contact on one low linedrive, it went about 290 to 295 straight into the wind. The bat actually felt like it crushed in, however there was not any poping or cracking sound like a miken when hit hard. |

April 23 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | i'm with crusher, get the combat,i have yet to see one die quickly, robo maybe you got a defected one,or hit heavy balls, domyou break bats easily.all the centenrians i have seen have lasted a lot longer than the mikens and reeboks..... |
April 23 Robo2 238 posts | You are correct. It is possible that when taking a few BP hits prior to a game in the early morning, the balls may hve come back slightly wet from dew. I ordered 2 more combats and they should come in this week. I will be very careful not to hit BP with these and use an ASA bat for that. |
April 24 mad dog Men's 65 4191 posts | robo a few wet balls hit really shouildn't of did it in,but i guess ya never know....i'm like you,i used an asa or usssa bat to bp with, unless the balls are dry and then it is only 10 or so max just before games(tourney) to get the feel for it... |
April 24 Gary19 Men's 50 2609 posts | Not to mention a ball that had just rolled for a bit in dew is not going to be water-logged. Wet balls are not a problem, water-logged balls are. And with today's solid core I can't imagine water-logging even occurs anymore. Not like the old days of wound balls. |
April 24 Webbie25 Men's 70 2414 posts | Busted again, Gary-if you did play you would know it does happen. I'd give you some but you don't need them for anything. |
April 25 Gary19 Men's 50 2609 posts | Busted??????? LOL What am I, your obsession? Today's balls barely pick up water. Nothing like the old days. NOTHING! |
