March 12, 2004 crusher Men's 75 524 posts | I like the Demarini Classic. I clicked on the link on the right side of this site on "slow pitch softball bats" and found the Classic at kellys sports for $129. Following is a link, http://www.kellysultimatesports.com/products.asp? catid=11&prodid=219 This bat was $225 last year in stores. Someone in your league should have one you can test. |
March 30, 2004 TaterinGa Men's 50 179 posts | I have seen players use the top bats & drill the ball & I use the same bat & it does not give the same effect. The best way for me to judge a bat is to find a bat weight that I am comfortable with, then take 25-30 swings off of a tee on a 300' field; mark the average distances; go to the next bat & so on. I positively can not swing a 26-28oz bat; I do not get the distance that I do with 30-32oz. Bat speed, bat weight & etc. are important when buying a bat. You can borrow bats of friends & test them before you spend $300 or more. I have never heard of anyone testing bats this way, if so, please forward your experience. Good luck; test before you invest. |
