Discussion: Best turf shoes out there

I think Boombah shoes are good but overrated.
When it comes to buying things like shoes it is better to go to a "brick and mortar" store and try the shoes on before buying. It saves on time and shipping costs if the shoes don't fit or feel right.

One of the biggest problems I have with shoes is that after a few games of running in the outfield my toes get sore. It seems to occur more often with turf shoes. It could be the shoes get a better grip when hitting the ground and my foot slides forward just enough to rub against the inside front of the shoe. I have had it happen to me wearing Boombah's (2 pair) and a pair of Mizuno's. I have tried wearing 2 pair of sox but that didn't seem to help much. My foot size is 10.5 and the shoes I bought were 11's. I don't know if going to size 11.5's would make much difference as the foot would still slide within the shoe. And yes, I do tighten the shoe strings.

Discussion: Does This Make Sense??

Hey Mr. Swing Makeover Ken, Mr. Senior Softball Bat Reviews Super Dave or any other Senior Softball YouTube Stars.

I would like for you to make a video that sheds light on the effects of aging in relation to hitting softballs.

Sharing some your thoughts and suggestions on this subject would be very helpful to the all of us senior softball players that watch your videos.

After all, you are one of us and you will be facing this is the not so distant future.

hemi racer

Your statement "No scientific proof, just see more knuckle balls off my bat during batting practices." indicates to me that your tacky bat is giving you LESS SPIN than a non tacky bat.

Is there anybody out there that has any real proof or evidence that a tacky barrel on a softball bat will actually change the spin or flight of a softball any more than a non tacky bat?

A video would be nice!

Discussion: What Are The Settings?

I have found that setting the pull release arm at 5, the rise pitch arm at 2 and the foot spring setting at 1 give a 50-53 foot pitch with a pitch arch of about 8-10 feet.

So what makes this bat so different from the Miken Triad other than a longer warranty?

I am getting confused.....

Dave at Senior Softball Bat Reviews in early January was told he would get a money refund for his broken Senior Barrage.

Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UG9gdZGj1MU

So is Reebok giving money refunds on broken bats or sending 2nd batch bats as replacement bats?

Why would the 26 and 27oz. bats be more prone to break than the 28oz. and up bats?

Discussion: Swing Makeover #12.Using a Double Knobcuff for max power and the 70's Senior Bomb Squad from St. Petersburg, Fl

There is a rule in the Rule Book concerning more than one knob cuff per bat!

It is the rule that says "It is illegal to have more than one on a bat".

It is call the "Knob Cuff Polygamy" rule!

Isn't that about the SAME TIME and about the SAME PRICE as the GSC wonder bat, with warranty, is supposed to be released?

I agree that the best way to break in a bat is to take BP with it.

Sometimes that is easier said than done.

A few weeks ago I ordered a bat to replace a bat that broke.

The bat was supposed to arrive on Wednesday, but UPS delayed delivery to about 7:30 Thursday evening. Too late for the Thursday BP. Thursday evening I had to pack my bags to prepare for a weekend tournament.
Friday, I had to work and drive 5 hours to get to my hotel. Saturday morning I got 8 swings (Why do they always come up with the number of pregame swings at 8?) So to make a long story short I ended up using the bat without any real break in period.

Discussion: The Stutter Step

I have watched videos of a lot of the big name "boomers" of slow pitch softball. Names like Hall, Crine, Helmer and others. And I have not seen any of them using the "Shuffle" of "walk the box" or whatever it called. Sure, these are big, strong guys, but for the most part it doesn't seem this style of hitting is used by most softball hitters.

I have reread your statements and I don't understand.

Statement 1)" I too have been to the plant where they make the bats."

Statement 2)"I am guessing that they are not yet manufacturing bats nor taking orders until it is ready."

So which is the true statement?
