Discussion: 1-1 count and new ball

OZ40..I have been reading your posts regarding the recent implementation of the 1-1 count and on behalf of our WOMEN'S team we would just like to say that we agree with you completely. While everyone is entitled to their opinion and personal preference, your points are certainly valid, in particular, "Especially if it's a close game, I would like the option to relax and be comfortable in the box, maybe take a pitch in lieu of possibly a better one. I want my team to be my top priority, not speeding up the game for the next team waiting to play. As teams we all pay just as much entry fee and just as much hotel costs, just as much gas costs, food cost & travel time as any other team. Why players accept the hurry up and get the hell back home thanks for your money don't let the door hit you in the a$$ on the way out treatment is beyond me." From one of your prior posts, I see that you are from Michigan. We too are from the north with typically non-complying-weather so just about every tournament is a plane ticket. Without question, a plane ticket well worth it to continue to play the game we all love but this certainly makes certain changes such as this one, "to speed up the game/action" much more apparent.

Discussion: TOC weather forecast

Heading to the TOC this weekend and see the forecast is not looking very good for Sunday.
In the Women's 40/50 division, our last bracket game is scheduled for Sat 3:30 as we are a 6 team division.
I realize most other divisions are larger but thinking a bit ahead..is there a chance that there could be games pushed up to Saturday evening as well if Sunday appears to be a washout?

Any chance that the Women's 40 Major and the 50's could be at the same location? Just wondering for those trying to participate in both divisions of this wonderful game! Thanks so much in advance if there is any way to make this possible!

Discussion: Syracuse New York Senior Women's softball team

Hi Darryl. I just saw this post. So nice to see someone making a sincere effort to promote Womens Senior Sofball in the Northeast and particularly in this area. I am also in central NY and play for a 40+ Womens travel team based in New England. We tried to enter the senior tournament in Syracuse last August but there ended up being no womens teams entered.

Please reply with an update on your efforts. Were you able to form a league and travel team?

Discussion: Update on Lew Oppenheimer - Coach of Lew's Crew 40AAA

Hi-
We are a fellow 40+ Women's team out of the New England area. We recently played in The Worlds out in Phoenix in October when this terrible tragedy occurred. We will be sending a donation to The Lew Memorial Fund this week. Although we did not know Lew, our hearts go out to him, his family and the entire softball community that has suffered such a tremendous loss. We hope to meet up with you at the next tournament we attend together.

Our sincerest condolences,

The Twisted Fossils 40+ Women's Softball Team
