Hey there OMAR THE CAMEL JOCKEY.....
Never said anything about about playing in lighting storms, sleet, heavy rain, and no power. If you play in those conditions "your the man".... "Grow a pair" and play in the sun and wind. Obviously you never played or pitched which I did many times in vegas at arroyo grande when the wind was blowing down from the connivance store down on to the field on the southwest field. Fly balls would go straight up in the infield behind the pitcher and blow back sometimes over the backstop. The outfielders adjusted and played 20/30 feet behind the infielders, the batters that knew and could adjust to the wind just hit the ball down and hard in the infield holes. The ego power hitters which there was many would still just try to hit it over the outfielders heads and then wine about the wind when the ball blew back and the pitcher or catcher caught it.. "ITS ALL ABOUT ADJUSTING".... Pitched and batted in many games in vegas and other cities with the sun in our eyes, "ITS ALL ABOUT ADJUSTING"......

Hey WHIPPER SNAPPER....
Vegas and phx are two cities you need to adjust to the heat in the summer, its part of the game, "ITS ALL ABOUT ADJUSTING" as for the caps, the button was stuck, but who cares or do you feel I was yelling at you, "GROW A PAIR" and get over it, I wasn't....

Hey there BIG NOSE KID....
I was only talking about the sun and wind I agree with you on the rest about not playing. I did play in a haboo in phx about 10 years ago, we were at victory lane on field 3, again it was its "ALL ABOUT ADJUSTING"....

Whats going on SHUT UP & BITCH.....
You should practice what your profile name says or are you guy that does the screaming. I've never complained about adverse conditions. All I ever said was learn to play in the sun and wind, "GROW A PAIR" and "ITS ALL ABOUT ADJUSTING"

YOU WANT SOME CHEESE WITH THAT WINE??......

Pitching and batting is part of playing the game and has always been since day one no matter where the sun
is and no matter what direction the wind is blowing from, SO GET OVER IT!!!!!

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE SUN OR WIND THEN DON'T PITCH OR DON'T HIT, ITS PRETTY SIMPLE. NOBODY IS
MAKING YOU PLAY, YOU CHOOSE TO PLAY SO GROW A PAIR AND GO OUT AND PLAY ITS THE SAME FOR
BOTH TEAMS. EVER HEARD OF ADAPTING TO THE CONDITIONS, OR ARE YOU ALL A BUNCH OF "HILLARY'S?

REMEMBER NOBODY'S MAKING YOU WINERS PITCH OR HIT.....

I HAVE TO AGREE WITH Dbax ITS PART OF THE GAME, GROW A PAIR AND LEARN TO DEAL WITH IT!!!!

For starters I didn't demean anybody(see my 1st post, simple question). I asked a SIMPLE question about when you would cancel a tournament due to excessive heat and at what temperature, which you still haven't answered. Your still dodging my original question. All you did was make a mountain out of a mole hill.

With your way of thinking its sounds like you would still play when there is thunder & lightning in the area(PLAY BALL) or if its rained for a day and half and the fields were swamped(PLAY BALL). Why not play through a tornado or hurricane(PLAY BALL). Where and when does the safety and well being of players come into play, just look at shadow rock upper fields and Hollywood in vegas(PLAY BALL)? And your right I do take personal responsibility for my health and well being because its obvious the tournament directors don't give a damn about it and make the right decision. PLAY BALL!!!!!!! If you need me i'll be in the air conditioning inside the snack bar watching..

Where I live they shut down the airport if its 115 and above because of tire blow outs and soft runways from the heat, why you ask, for the safety and well being of the passengers on the planes.

If you still think its hilarious and loaded question then you don't care about the players safety and well being(PLAY BALL).

At what temps would senior softball call off a tournament in Texas, Arizona and Nevada, and possibly southern California, or would the almighty dollar out weigh peoples health and lives and well being?

It's amazing you guys still keep playing and keep bitching. What is it with senior softball, 75% of players all they do is bitch and complain about one thing or the other there never happy. You bitch about the balls, you bitch about sun in your in your eyes, you bitch about everything. What ever happened to learning to play and adjusting to the elements and learning to hit the ball that the tournament decides to use, single the other teams to death.

Get boonie to run a few tournaments, he's always running his mouth about one thing or another or about some player or director he dislikes, lets see what he can do........

They would have to comp my room and food for me to stay at az charlie's again, and then I'd still have to think about it, terrible rooms for the money.

It's tough for a self sponsored team to play in a 745$ tournament plus expense's when your from out of state. We can play 2 maybe 3 tournaments at home for the cost of the vegas entry fee and play on better fields then shadow rock and hollywood.

Just My 2cents.........

Hey Good one Dbax, you beat me to it, LOL LOL.... I thought they would drop shadow rock and hollywood after they got cheyenne into the mix....

745$ per team is little to steep for my blood and our team will stay home, its not worth spending approx 550$ + per person to play at shadow rock and hollywood for the weekend. I can go to san diego and sit on the beach and look at the hottie's in bikini's and drink beer and its cheaper and more fun then playing softball in vegas.

They even did away with the breakfast buffet coupons at boulder station, that wouldn't change my mind or the teams mind about playing, but I thought I'd put that out there.

Hey Dbax, you can put on a senior softball tournament if you like and make up the rules as you see fit, charge what you want, use whatever ball you want, GO FOR IT big guy if you think you can do better......

You could alway do what cali does, give the teams 6 balls 375/44 rocks, when there gone or lost or whatever you can use any 375/44 ball in your bag. I was in perris BLD a few weeks ago and a team was using a victory lane stamped ball, hey it was 375/44.

I don't know what your winning about, the flagstaff(seifman) tournament are not a sanctioned senior softball tournament. The director can set up the senior tournament anyway he wants, its for his benefit. You still play by the senior rules according to age but the rest is up to the tournament director.

Go to southern californa and play in there tournaments, socalssa.com its the same thing as arizonas senior tournaments. There still senior tournaments but not sanctioned by sacramento. They go with a 5 game and done, 3 on Saturday, 2 on sunday.....375$ for this weekend in cali.... Still play the senior rules according to age, balls(rock) and is far better competition then in flagstaff.

Hey Crusher, Is it not still professional baseball when you play in Toronto on the turf? Ever see a baseball bounce on that turf, samething as the 2 fields at shadow rock. ITS ALL ABOUT ADJUSTMENTS!!!!! No matter what sport you play its all about adjustments. The 2 upper fields I agree there is no adjusting to terrible and dangerous field conditions.

I hate to say it, but the only way to get senior softball to look at different options is to hit them where it hurts, IN THE WALLET.....I like playing in vegas twice a year don't get me wrong, but its time to retire shadow rock and hollywood....After all we are in the city that never sleeps, use it your advantage. Players can still drink there beer 24/7 in vegas.....Ive played in many late into night or morning tourneys in vegas, there actually fun, you just have to plan ahead little.

What makes vegas so special that there to good to reschedule leave play for a weekend or two including fridays. I lived in Phx for 20 years and rose moffert, victory lane, papago, and a few others would just simply push the league play at the parks back a week during those times to accommodate fast, pitch, little league and even the gay worlds at rose moffert and the other parks, just the way it was. Why is vegas so special, we bring a lot of money to vegas for the winter tournament not so much for the spring tournament.

I know if I wont spend the money to play in the fall tourney any more if were stuck at shadow rock. I can deal and adjust with weather conditions its part of playing sports outdoors, but when you have extremely terrible field conditions Im drawing the line. Luckily I play outfield, catch or DH and the field conditions don't really effect me to much but the others guys on the team are effected a lot by extremely poor field conditions.

Maybe its time to burn the midnight oil at a few parks, I have no problem playing at 10/11pm after all were in vegas baby, you can sleep during the day, just as long as if I play an 10/11pm game friday night win or lose i don't have to play till noon or after the next day I'm good with it.

We been staying that for years about those two parks but It always has fallen on deaf ears. Its no fun when it happens to you isn't it, suck it up and move on, your probably gonna be there later this year, bring your camera its a great view from up there...LOL LOL It was in english i could read it LMAO!!!!
