I am a home run hitter and I worry about hurting the pitcher and infielders though it would be an accident , so far I thankfully I haven't. I think the bats are way too hot and break easily for power hitters which is expensive.
I have seen this discussion for years. I have a suggestion : SSUSA should send out a survey to the players about the use of the hot 1.21 rated bats and get a real statistical feedback done. It should not be a $$$ issue for bat manufacturers but decided by the players. Maybe it will not be overwhelming either way but if hot bats are voted against by say a 75% majority it should require serious consideration to change something. I like to see good defense and the distance the outfielders plays is all related to the hot bats ... so you can attempt hit it apast them with any bat/ball combination.

Discussion: Phoenix world - need field assignments

Hotels often say "Book by October 24, 2014 for special rates!!" Yet it is Nov 2nd and we still have no info on the fields.
Isn't there enough historical info to have a good guess on number of teams per division earlier and temporary filed assignments ?
We travel as couple and sometimes have extended stays and this late info costs money and makes planning a big pain.
Phoenix and TOC and Vegas have fields that are very spread out - is the TOC which we hope to plan for gong t be the same issue and not have assignments until Jan 2nd? Waiting until registration is 100% makes it rough.

I think it would be prudent for SSUSA to invest in having a spreadsheet developing where results can be entered.
They could be used and entered during the day and at least at the end of the day competed for that day.
Tournament results would be preserved and available very quickly.
I know at the Worlds several years ago with so many teams and rules on tie-breakers for match-ups it took a long time to decide by paper who played who when. With a spreadsheet all the rules are coded and the results would be fast.
It seems like a wise investment that would save the directors at each field much time and angst.
It would be monies well spent and pay for itself over time and certainly solve such issues.
"Just sayin"
