Discussion: Batting Practice Balls-- Evil BP balls (orange/white) vs Tattoo NX3 Balls (green/yellow)

Hummm lets see, Your bat broke and almost 10 years of user experience with the Evil bp ball would indicate it was not the cause. Deductive reasoning usually wins.

Good bat but its NOT an Adidas like some people are saying. When I hit it a few weeks ago it totally reminded me of a Ultra, even looks like one if you lined up the 2 together.

This is great news. As the person who owns the trademark rights to Microcell technology I can tell you SSUSA has chosen the appropriate mixture of materials and technology for this ball. It wont be too hot in the cold and wont suffer from thermal degradation in higher temps.
I believe many of you will be satisfied with this choice.
Great Job SSUSA

Discussion: diference between melee 2 bats

Lee, I was a huge fan of the green 13, went to the same weight in the 12 inch and wont even consider using another bat. Before the green 13 I was never comfortable with endloads but that bat changed me for life. I was a bit concerned about the smaller barrel on the 12 inch but that was not an issue at all. It has been an outstanding bat for me and I have yet to put it down. You have a loyal user of the 12 here. Thanks for some great product.

Discussion: Evil B.P. 52+ Softballs

Woodlawn has been using those Evil BP balls for Years without damage to peoples bats. The Evil BP ball is what we call a rinse and repeat ball with our water resistant cover so they clean up simple and easy. I would not tell you to do that with the Evil game balls.
I can only speak to the Evil BP ball but the Evil BP52 has been perfected for use on any bat in all types of temps. This has been proven for over 4 years now and continues to be one of our top sellers.
Im happy to send you a couple samples to try before you buy.

Discussion: Dont sleep on a Heavy Ball for rehabbing and throwing strength

Gary, The Evil Heavy is 12 oz weight. We found that to be the best weight for this application. Our ball does not really bounce and its built with a leather cover like many of the other Evil Balls sold today. We were looking for something close to a game ball feel with good weight and I think we nailed it with the Evil heavy.

Discussion: Dont sleep on a Heavy Ball for rehabbing and throwing strength

Lets get this out of the way right up front. Yes I sell a heavy ball and this is not intended to further the sales of it. This is my personal result.
A little background, Im 54, I have a separated right shoulder and have not played much over the past 5 years, a game or 2 here or there. My throwing shoulder is compromised by the separation and I was never much of a flame thrower to begin with. Last summer I about mid season I was asked to play in a senior league 1 or 2 days a week. I was excited to get back into playing but quickly realized I could barely make the throw from the 2nd base bag to first. In my past I was able to make just about any throw but again no one was gonna be saying Wow what a dart.
I made it through that season but really wanted to be able to play anywhere on the infield as needed going forward. This spring I started out with about the same arm strength, it was not easy for me to throw out someone from behind the 2nd base bag but I managed. To me it was embarrassing that I couldn't play 3rd or short if needed. It was Not ok for me to be one of those "I can only play 2nd" guys, so I started using a heavy ball 2 to 3 times a week to see it if would help. After 2 weeks of using it I began to notice I had more pop on my throws and continued to use it at least 2 times a week. By the end of the season I was asked to play short when our regular guy was out and I was able to make the plays.
I dont care what heavy ball you get, of course I believe the Evil is one of the best due to its leather cover and 12oz weight but you need to choose which one is best for you. Like any other training aid you need to be smart using it. Dont show up and try to throw it as hard as you can. Just play some short toss and gradually increase the distance. I would say I was throwing it at about 70%. Later in the season I would push it a little when I was fully warm.
Im excited to get back to throwing with it and preparing for the winter season down in Florida now feeling confident I can play anywhere in the infield where Im needed.
Heavy ball worked for me.

Discussion: Senior Leagues in So Cal that allow more than single wall bats

Im with you Benji, I played this summer in a league that used ASA bats and 52-300 balls. Never in my 30 years of playing have I had balls hop up on me like this year. Charging a ball and having it bounce up and hit you in the shoulder or chest with no visible depression in the field. While I applaud the intent of providing "safer" equipment the 52-300 equation needs some tweaking and is far from perfect.

Jeff, Hotter than the 2003 Ultra 1 and then Ultra 2?? No and if anything the ball today is not as hot as it was back then. Stop the whining already and be happy we are able to use good equipment.

Discussion: The Rock.

James I work closely with Trump on many different versions the ball. Its not quite as easy to make a slight change as one might think. The problem is Polyurethane core materials are very sensitive to heat. The Rock is truly the best ball when temps are above 80. I have played with that ball design for many years and have not seen it cause more injuries than any other ball. Trust me you dont want to see the senior game go to a ball like the ASA 52-300. I cant imagine how many complaints and pissed off people there would be. You guys should be happy we get to hit a ball as good as the Rock.

John Furlong from Yearflo sports developed the 52-300 polyurethane first. Thats a fact, not your folklore hearsay information. The Evil BP concept was developed by me and laughed at by your buddy until he decided to copy it, Again fact. But thanks for playing.

You are talking about 2 different cover materials and different core designs here. X rock is a great ball, you want the ones that have the MCT logo on them, those are the best ones.
