Discussion: Looking for a end cap for my Combat

Hi too all, I am looking for a used Combat , it being the Original Balanced Da Bomb model, my end cap has split, from to many times having to glue it back in, the end cap came out after the first week that i had it, in which i bought it last summer. I have sent it back twice to the Company and they just keep retuning the same bat having glued it there, and now I have had to put it back in at least 3 times and glued it myself, but now after using it in Dalton, the cap has split all away across. I have called the company again, and they will not sell me a new cap,

Discussion: West Coast teams traveling to midwest and east coast

Hi Lecak, I would only recommend the Midwest Championships held in Champaign, Il, great fields, and and it is a well ran tourney, and has a good turnout for most divisions, for this part of the country.
The other one is SPA Nationals in Dalton, and for the most part has a lot of teams, and the complex is very good and a well ran tourney, not much else to do there but to play softball, The only negative is it is a little pricey in the entry fee ,but then again SPA gives out the best awards of all tourneys I have played in, in the last 11 years and it puts on a good time for all of the players. So you get what you pay for , that is the way I look at it.

I am only talking about the Major tourneys, not any qualifiers, that is another story for a later time.

I will leave the judgement of NSA , ASA and ISSA tourneys for others, ,even thou i have played in them.

Hi Sisavic, I know they (USSSA) dropped out, so did NSA, and I understand why also and have no problem with that either. I was just pointing out that you either go and play or stay home,.
It isnt always about the organizations per say,but I have to put the blame on the TD's mostly, and I do not mean all of them either, for the most part, may i say it is about the money?? for heaven sakes could this be true?, or is it on some of the leaders of the organizations, who are to blame also ?? (looks like to me enough blame to go around). who award these tourneys to different citys and or organizations, but then do not police them to make sure the rules are use correctly, the right balls, the legal bats, fields and scorekeepers, just so they can use there Organizations name to draw teams in? and then for them to get a share of the entry fee for using their name? Then after they have a bad tourney, and a lot of compliants, they let them run it again the next year, so go figure?? $$$$$

I am just stating some my opinions from I have heard over the last 11 years that I have been in senoir softball, I am not a real outspoken person, but feel things need to be on the table, this will be the only way it gets straighten out, hopefully. or it will not end up like the younger guys tourneys, in which in some places are dying out.

I have to ask, why do any teams still go to these worthless tourneys? Ussa, ASA ,Isa, and NSA , LVSSA for a small part when you know what is going to happen, (just to win a National?) it is the same every year, but you and myself still go, only way to stop this is not go, and for the matter fo SSUSA and SPA, they have some tourneys just as bad also, no score keepers, umps that have no clue, fields not taken care of, so it is all over , and seems to me, getting worse. Either go play and not complain or do not send your money in, simple as that. You can always go play golf ?.

Dirty, you are probably right, but if they did go back to the real rules like you say, I would be safe to say, over half of the players (probably more) playing senior ball, would just retire/quit or never sign up from the game of softball, especially if they could not use the bats or extra plate or other safety rules, but mostly because of the bats and most people are too old to slide anymore, or they do not feel safe in sliding anymore, not all, but quite a few will not.

But this is just my opinion, and I am wrong a lot.

Good job Corky, in winning the tourney, and now that you have won this one,They will move you up , and I want to be the first one to welcome you and the Brickyard to 50 Majors, you will find it has a lot of good teams to play, and wont have to play the same teams all the time,
Good Luck,

HI Lefty,my team was talking about you this week, (All good I may add) with a bunch of others from the old Tennesee Legends/ /Georgia Masters Alabama 50's .
Jerry says Hi and he will catch up with one of these days, so will a few others, Jerry and a few others said that they need to get some hitting tips from you.
Tell your team we have some good tourneys up north , and it is just as close for you to drive up here , as it is for us to always come down south and play, it would be a little cooler up here in Indiana if you do and we will not beat up on you to bad.see ya soon

Discussion: NSA World Series 50 Major results

In Cullman, Al, the 50 majors played, and I thought it was a great tourney, a lot of real good and close games, The Balls were not real good, but it made for some good old softball with defense, and timely hitting, and not just the long ball, it reminded me like it was in the old days, I think the home run limit was only reach in a couple of times ( 4 per game, plus one up-single ) .

1st----- Motown- they never lost a game all weekend-Butch Drake leeds them to Victory

2nd----- Premier, -playing as a 55 major Plus team- a lot of pop on this team

3rd,----- Indiana Classics- I thought we played well, but ran out of gas on Sunday

4th. Doc C's -- a real good hitting team

5th- Dam Smith- another dangerous team and a very good team

6th- Checkcare ( Riverside Paving), - they had some players hurt, but a very good team also.

Discussion: SPA Majors in Tulsa

Anyone have any results from Tulsa this past weekend? I am interested in the 50 Majors, we had to cancel going the week before last week , because only had 11 players, two of the top three players could not go, I did not feel we should drive 10 hours and take chance in the heat, short of players, with the cost of gas and the entry fee

NSA has no qualifiers for the NSA World series in any states, for seniors, that I know of, all you do is send in your check, but they do check the team ratings and will place you according to your rating. You will have to put your team rosters on line and send it to the main office, before the tourney starts and your team has to pay a $25.00 team registration, along with the $400.00 entry fee for a 5 game garantee.
