FORMAT NEEDS REWORKED:::someone explain to me how you can play 3 games on Saturday (Bracket Play) lose 1 and show up Sunday morning only to play a team that had already lost 2 (in the brackets), they eek out a win and you go home with 2 losses and they are still IN with 2 losses....Why can't it be 2 losses in the brackets and you go home.....been that way for the 40yrs I've been playin.

Discussion: ISA Worlds rules

These are the rules for the upcoming ISA Worlds: My question is: How can you have run rule limits after 5 innings without the possibility of getting to the OPEN INNING......I know because we have won many games due to the open inning, coming from behind by as many as 14 runs down........with the limits per inning, teams must be allowed to get an OPEN inning......time limits and then an open OK.......but not run rule limits........What's your thoughts guys............

Format: Full (2-game) Round Robin to seed 55-AAA 3 game guarantee Elimination Bracket
Home Runs - AAA = 3 per team per game, 1-up, Walks
Run Rule = 20 after 4 and 15 after 5 innings, in bracket play only.
NOTE: Retrieving out of play balls will be strictly enforced.
Runs per 1/2 inning - 5 runs per ½ inning at bat (except open inning)
Time Limits - RR = 65 + open inn. • Bracket = 70 + open inn. • Championship game(s) = 7 innings full
Tie Breakers - Head to head (in full RR only), least runs allowed, run differential, coin toss

Crusher...I umpire NSA and they have actually gone to senior bats to try to draw more seniors to their tournaments. The bats may not exceed the 1.21 bpf and they MUST use the 52/275 ball. I think ASA and USSA have also switched to using senior bats in the 50 and over only. It does give us more options when making up our tournament schedules. Might see some new faces.

Not callin anyone out........just trying to find out how many teams are in our bracket and what the format would be....we've always sent a good contingency out of Indy to play in her Benefit tournament. Don't get your shorts all up in a knot. didn't find out until last night at ISP that they were finally up on the board.

Johnny....just got a call from a coach who was a little disgruntled about the tournament format(4 game RR)....I hope it was just because of the number of teams in their respective Div. Since I didn't see the brackets (that are usually posted on this site)I began to wonder about the turnout for this tournament.......We were led to believe that the demand to get in was high, thus insuring the usual 2 or 3 game RR seeding for the 2 game elim. bracket format...We were pressed to get our team in a Tourney a few weeks ago that ended up having only 3 teams. ???

I agree with Birdie....I know his talking to team mates is not done in the heat of battle but in jest beside the cooler later. I umpire and just have to shake my head at some of the stuff I hear....back in the day it was considered poor sportsmanship and a good coach would sit you down if ya did it....these games we play are just a snapshot of life....Be careful what you teach your kids. We wonder why the world is so full of bullying.

Discussion: Equality???

I think you are spot on brookery......let them play, because we all want to play....but do not give them any equalizer and give them the championship of their division. In your case the top AAA team should be awarded that divisions championship.

Elmo....you left out one small detail......If your team is Crystal Pharmacy.....The 55's had no problem with you being in the 55AAA bracket, we balked at giving a 60major team 5 runs. There should have been NO equalizer. All the 55 coaches agreed to play straight up.
