I agree on several items in the posts above. After our HR'S were gone there were a few slamed through the middle. Some were called some were not. We were given a couple of different reasons and we all know what they are.

Had a very good time, thanks SSUSA

I heard that Cleary ( MAC II ) wasn't going to field a team.

Played against East Bay last year in Pleasanton and saw a few guys from Mac and Sal from Seacrest.

I was also @ the game in Sac against Steeles. They were using diamoind # 1 in Elk Grove park and there were so many monster HRs. One that made a real impressiom was a ball that not only cleared the light standards but left the entire park over Elk Grove Blvd and into someones yard.

The thing that I remember that really struck me was that none of the players for Steeles while @ their turn at bat were in the dugout or on the bench. They just stood in their bating order on the outside of the dugout with their bat in hand waiting for their turn to hit.

Sierrasunsets; There is also a league on tuesday nights in Roseville @ Maidu park. There are cages there as well, but not sure of the hours. There are some indoor cages in Rocklin "Arena Softball " off of Washington Blvd.

If you leave an E-mail address a friend of mine can send you an app.

Good luck

I've wondered this myself. Will it be based on who's on your team or our past tournament results ?

Will "Wilson's 50 or 55 " move ?

Discussion: ASA bats for league - drop or not ?

In the leagues I play in (3) we are required to use ASA bats, insurance reasons I believe. Some ASA bats are grandfathered in but to me it's the ball. One of the leagues uses a Trump distance ball and the other two use Gold Dots, no comparison. Even with the ASA bats if you get all or most of it it will go unlike the lesser ball.

Discussion: I don't care what bats are used......

Back when I started playing tournament softball it was more the ball not the bat. We were using " leather" blue and red dots and sometimes a ball called a "hot dot". The bats were the single walled versions of Alu. and I saw many monster home runs and alot of runs scored. I was lucky enough to hit some when I was younger and still able to now even with the dumb downed balls and ASA bats. (leagues ) Tournaments on the other hand are a whole different deal. Players have, and rightfully so, their own bats that they want to use, as do I. There is nothing wrong with competing with friends and associates at the higest levels. This is what is avaliable to us and there is no reason not to use them.

IMO softball players and teams are ranked and there reputations are based on how well they hit. Softball is a game where everyone can, it just depends on how well.

Home run hitters and line drive hitters are just that, no matter the age. Hitting a home run with a leather blue dot and a Worth C-1 thumper then is no different than hitting one now with 375/44 ball and U2 or Combat

Have a great New Year !
