This past week in a tournament my old 30oz Centenarian easily placed a ball in the 330-350' range. It is now in its 3rd year and is scratched up, however no cracks or splits are visible.

Sounds like all these new bats are so hot that 450' should be the normal stroke. The ball was 44-375. Have not hit a 52-300 though, do not know what the old Cent would do.

The old Cent is also great for hitting a screaming grounder thru infield when a HR is not needed.

Discussion: ASA and USSSA bats no longer approved for use in SSUSA play??

BruceinGa Good Morning.

From the Bat Policy above here is the approved Jan 1 2014 and later manufactured bats that are legal from Worth:

Worth
•Toxic Titan (SBTXXX)
•Toxic XXX Reload (SBXXXR)
•454 (SBRHA)
•Sick 454 Resmondo Endload (SBSRU)
•2 Legit (FPLGC)
•Legit Balanced (SB43S, SBL5S, SBL5U)
•Launch 510 (WSRSB, WSRRH)

This is what seems to be legal if made Jan 1, 2014 and later, there is a Sick 454, what is your model number, if SBSRU then your bat is legal AS I READ THE POLICY.
(that last is a disclamir in that i may not know what i am talking about, later C)

Stick8 - it was the field ump. He did not watch the runner.

Discussion: Umpire Mistake

Playing today in a tournament in Plano Tx.
Runner on 1st, batter hits a triple. Field umpire goes out on grass to see if the ball would be caught by outfielder. It was not so a triple. 2nd baseman told umpire the batter missed 2nd base. The umpire goes to 2nd base looks at tracks around 2nd base and calls batter out for missing 2nd.

SSUSA Staff You guys best get ahead of this on Bat Policy Rules!

The first change is a bat curved more than .005 degrees will be limited to 17 inches in length. This should equal the playing field for the defense verses the offense with this 21 century modification.

The old crooked handle bat of the 20th century put the offense at a disadvantage so it went away.

Laugh a lot and enjoy life.

Bruce, Sounds like the runner should have been advanced back to 1st base as that is where he would have made if not obstructed.Your 1st post on this appears to be correct.

The batter would never have made it to 2nd base in this case as it was occupied and he was headed back to 1st.

SSUSA Staff - Question??

I did not see Koz23's msg to sell bats. You deleted his msg. Are you going to start deleting the other guys on here that offer bats for sell, Saying JUST GOT A NEW BATCH IN call or e-mail so you can get yours.

That is selling bats.

Or, could it be these guys selling all the time here are on the SSUSA Staff and share profits with the Organization??

I prefer the board as an info board, however, we have a great info board and a place to buy bats.

Gary - Too much tape has been against ASA or WhoEver Organization forever. In '94 playing in Industral National Championshp A in Lakeland Fl. I had to remove extra tape from my bat handle befor I could bat....

The extra tape like a bat knob helped me not throw the bat on a power swing.

phantom thanks for this post.

It may be possible a bat getting cold then warmer over a winter could damage the material. Expanding and contracting.

I am going to bring my bat inside from the garage, and my glove also.....

rustoman - you may have been out to long to play todays game.

The good news is there is day ball where they use ASA bats with the year 2000 and 2004 approved bats. Here in the Dallas area there are several leagues and even different levels using these bats. I play in one of these leagues and can recommend it for you.

There may be some nite leagues that use the prior generation bats, they will be much safer for you to compete in.

DBO topic.

I moved to 3rd base this year from outfield because we had 8 outfielders.

Hey, if the BIG hitters start hitting down and bad bounces happen on the infield, !! There are going to be some guys get hurt bad. You do not have a chance to move with a thousands of a second on a bad bounce.

Discussion: New 2014 Rateings

The team I played on last year had a tournament record against local run of the mill teams of (I think) 4-2.

We finished 7th in SPA. SSUSA is much stronger than SPA.

AND, you SSUSA STAFF re-rated this team from AAA to MAJOR???????
I really want to say something really insulting about your
very being and mental compacity but for the life of me
I just can not go as low as you SSUSA STAFF.

We may have been able to finish 10th in your season ending nationals.

I also see where you re-rated teams that finished ahead of us down
from Major to AAA.

SSUSA Staff do you just flip a coin?????

James English

P.S. I do not normally post my name, however, I have supported you and even defended you for 15 or 18 years. I just do not understand
why you use a coin to decide your decisions.
