Crusher...aren't you the same guy that said no to the 1-1 because you might hit a pitcher like you do a lot in your 1-1 senior league)

Forget just doing it for more innings.

HOW ABOUT DOING IT TO GIVE PITCHERS A BETTER CHANCE TO NOT HAVE A BALL DRILLED UP THE MIDDLE.

Discussion: If SSUSA can change individual rules for Plus Division why not 1-1 for those that want it

Why can't 1-1 be used in individual age groups that want it?

Discussion: New MTC 55 Jayvee team looking to add NorCal talent

Ron, no dissension with me...I think it's great our young 55 guys have a squad as great as Kurts 55+ Varsity team to aspire to.

I hope it ends up being a good rivalry...kinda like the one we have with you guys and the other NorCal teams...

heck...maybe it can end up like those old UCLA games when Kareem wasn't allowed to play Varsity as a freshman..

as I recall, Wooden so got tired of his Varsity getting boat raced he made sure they didn't scrimmage the Jayvees.

Or maybe...pistol Pete's freshman year, jayvee team??

We needed to make sure there was no confusion with which MTC 55 team was in events so we came up with the well earned Varsity and Jayvee squads.

I don't know if Kurt will need to register as the MTC 55 Varsity...but we are registering as the Jayvees...

We thought there would be a problem with our uniforms next year because we will carry around 15 players, and Kurt usually carries 14...

but once we found out the 14 Varsity hand me down Uniforms Kurt is giving our team included yours...we figured we could get your uni cut in half and our team mother is going to make a uniform for Leele and Perry out of it;-)

The better challenge would be USSSA pitching rules with the homerun contestant also having to pitch ten young kids style USSSA strikes to his homerun hitting opponent in a head to head format...

If hat's the challenge...count me in...and for a little more chuckles we should add athe 40+ division...

First round,in a dream matchup, is Andy Purcell against Ozzie!!!

now that would result in one 50 year old walking around in tight shorts;-)

Ron, with the great track record of the old MTC 55 team that our new MTC 55s call the Varisty, our hopes are we can be 1/2 as good as Kurts group.

I know you played with the MTC 55 Varsity group at worlds last weekend...if you watched the bench at all...you will recall...Kurt called up a three of four of our Jayvee guys to sit the bench just as insurance if a varsity starter got injured.

Word is Ron, Wayne, Perry and Glen are going to the 55 team banquet praying they can gets their Varsity letter;-)

To the players that have contacted me...I will be in touch..

A lot of seniors might have a chance to first hand see how 1-1 effects senior games...
USSSA is making a move for the senior dollar and word is they are considering 1-1?????
If trip does use the 1-1 down south in their first western worlds??? it would be great is SSUSA allows those players to share their experience with us.

Our MTC 50 team is moving up to the 55s next year and are looking to fill out our team roster.

If there is any 55 talent, preferable from central/NorCal /based on not being able to pay for travel costs, looking to move up to 55s...we are trying to collect names....

It's our goal to...... if lucky enough..... give the MTC Varsity team (the current MTC 55s that win all the trophies) a game for a few innings next year...

I can be reached at 925 878-9245...and NO I/we will not share with others the names of those who actually contacts us.

We didn't get an extra five minutes at worlds. Our games were actually shortened to five innings.

As I see it....the only guys crying about not going to 1-1!are the insecure guys scared they might lose a few points in their batting average at the expense of trying to get more innings in a game.

I think a flaw in ssusa is trying to throw all age levels into the same rules.

I think since there are huge talent differences because of the wide spread of ages playing, ssusa needs to start looking at separating some ages/levels from all having the same rules..

As an example...I would not be surprised if the 1-1 count went to a vote in the 20 years age brackets from 40-60 years old that it would have a lot of support..

In that 20 year span the game usually ends in less then 7 innings and I know 1-1 would get more innings in the younger (under 60) age group... Maybe as an experiment ssusa could allow teams to play 1-1 if both teams agree at the coin toss...that way...staff could monitor how 1-1 goes without forcing the under 60s into it right away.

I though we were talking about Jose and his brother playing 50 Major plus...not an omen team right around the corner of all playing 70s.

I was at the 50 Plus and it looked like Jose was nothing but professional...other then when he was on the field...he seemed to always be posing for a picture with a fan.

As far as the steroid stuff goes...i just wish the Conseco's made it to the bigs PEDs free...then we could have talked about their mlb days.

As for softball...senior games are won with defense and the ability to hit for a high average without home runs...

Home runs are a dime a dozen....

1-1 to start the AB would greatly help the seniors game.

0-0 is way to slow of a game..I heard the 55 plus guys averaged around five inning games.

It's interesting that GSC picked up a new senior player...the more new seniors the better...especially a player that played MLB.

Swing, there are at least six policemen on aftershock...I wonder how many of them let that guy driving 70 in a 25 off the hook because he didn't know the speed limit...

Or how about this one....so you say I blew a blood alcohol twice the limit? Geez officer...if I knew I was driving drunk I wouldn't of done it....will you let me go free?;-)

Discussion: West Coast Aftershock -

I am friends and have been teammates of many of the Aftershock players.

If they got caught cooling the balls I would think those involved should come forward and except being suspended for at least the remainder of the season.

I would think??? SSUSA most likely has run across this before and I hope? They didn't just slap the wrist of the cheating team.

As for them Aftershock adding an illegal Out of state Plus player....

I am pretty sure Bass played with them before they were dropped to Major...and...his still being on the team was a SSUSA Staff over site...being that Aftershock was the second team he played with this year....maybe? He should be allowed to join another team that meets his state requirements.

Discussion: WHY SEVEN RUNS PER INNING?

Why I think it should be five.....

The main reason there is any inning run total in any division is to try to keep game scores close when two teams of unequal abilities play each other.

Since Plus ball has the same talent spread as every other Division, all the seven instead of five runs does is widen the scoring difference at the end of the game.

Since there are more then a couple experienced senior players and SSUSA staff on the thread...how about on other rule to consider....

Since the seeding games set a ranking of all teams in the tourney...why not....in an attempt to keep the lower ranked teams from getting badly blown out....the higher ranked team is always home team...ie...does NOT get to bat in the open inning unless they are tied or behind and....once they go ahead by one run...the game is over..
