Discussion: Winners of 65 Majors -Vegas

Just checking to see results of the 65 major division as we Rezults were knocked out yesterday. The good news is We Rezults broke our streak after 3 tournaments and going 0- 10 and won 1st game we played with wonderful open inning team play. We finished 1 win 4 losses running us to 1 -14 for year but again we gave it our best. Saw some great teams in Major division and they can be very proud of positive spirit and sportsmanship. Fields were great and overall again I can not say enough how proud of our team I was .Thanks to all that came up and spoke to me about life and this wonderful game of softball that at this age we are still blessed to play. Discussion: SW LVSSA Championships April 23-25, 65-Major Division

I have been reading this blog as well as the other 65 blog that has been written about the past week. To be honest I have some really strong feelings about having to play against 65 plus. My team is Rezults 65 out of Vegas. If I remember right we won two tournaments last year. One was in Feb in a new Vegas tournament where we had maybe 3-4 teams at that time AAA. We won and than won our 2nd tournament at Sept Worlds. We were so hot we ran through most of division and won two games by 2 runs. We of course were moved up to Major 65,s WE lost around 6-7 players because they did not want to move up to Majors. We could not field a team for PHX Winter Worlds because we had half a team all AAA moved up now to major status. We played in Rick Siefman's Dec PHX tournament in Dec going 0-5 and lost to Roccos a team we had beaten by 20 in world championships. This time the tables turned on us and we lost I believe by 20. In March we again played in Siefman's tournament and again playing short lost all 5 games going 0-10 so far this year.It was ugly and we even lost to a 65 AA team in this tournament For April Vegas worlds we are right now at 10 and maybe 11 tomorrow if George allows us a player we want to add.I want each of you to understand I feel bad Timberworks only have 17 players Major plus but that is for another time. I wanted to write this past week but kept hearing a tug at my heart to wait. Today after a wonderful church service for Palm Sunday I understand why I was asked to wait. Today I tell you no matter what happens at 65 major worlds going 5-0 or 0-5 to extend our streak God is in control and I believe has plans for each team and we will be winners no matter what occurs on the field. Jesus DIED but beat death. I want God's victory not man,s so please all 15 teams of 65 major BRING IT ON. We may lose the game BUT NOT THE WAR of everlasting life. HUGS to every one I am number 14 on REZULTS team sometimes pitcher ,Would love to say hi at the games. Who Knows maybe we might have a David against the GIANT moment.I love playing this game but love God more. Thanks again.GI

Speaking of PHX. BLD in Gilbert AZ. has just reopened under a new name. I am hopeful Senior Softball will look at these new and improved major league parks and get in on the action.10 Minutes from my home in Mesa. I understand City put in lots of money to improve. Great for PHX area and tournaments.

Discussion: Rec tournament AZ Dec 8th 2018

I have been trying to get information for our Vegas team for the Dec 8-9th tournament in PHX. I called 3 times and left E-mail for Director. I am sure he is busy not complaining. Guys just need to know for sure so they can plan to play and travel plans . Our coach may think Rec means for the young kids playing instead of seniors so I am trying to help him out. If anyone knows about this tournament could you please reply. Our team is a 65 age group if that helps. Bless you for kindness. GI

Discussion: 1-1 count for all age groups

Hello all I have to say it has been a interesting year and I feel very blessed to still be on the field. With a new year starting up I just wanted to get it out that I would love to see all age groups playing the same rules and feel it is time to have all age groups start the 1-1 count. I was very hopeful last year when I moved to 65 age group that I would see the change to 1-1. When I saw that the 65 group had voted for the change to 1-1 I was thrilled since I knew the younger groups were also changing after vote. I assume as this is the end of year that maybe rules will be visited and I am hopeful that we all can play under the same rules. I think overall senior softball is doing a wonderful job at giving us seniors a chance to play the game of children and I am so thankful to spend time on the field with you all. I also want to thank CEO Terry for being so kind each year to help the Christian Children's Home I was Director for in our Golf tournament each year.I hear a lot of thoughts about the Senior Program but I am thankful they give us a chance to play. See you on the field.

Discussion: How do you like the 1 n 1 count?

I have been for 1-1 since I started playing senior softball 40's and older. always loved knowing guys were ready to hit and keep action going. I have never been blessed to pitch with the 1-1 rules and now that I turned 65 this year moved to that age group and guess what 60 and under got the 1-1 rules. Please now after this year change ALL groups to the same 1-1 count. Any thing else as my Kindergarten students say is just stupid. We are all so blessed to continue to play this game but I really pray the time for 1-1 has come for ALL AGE GROUPS.. HOW MANY SLOW PITCHES DO WE REALLY NEED????. I get tired of watching over 40 players a game take the first strike, with all our extra pitching gear it really gets hot enough just trying to knock down the middle shots. Thanks for all that voted to have the 1-1 in 65 division, more than did vote for 0-0 count. Bless you, Terry, Dave , Fran, George for letting us play a kids game. See 65's week from tomorrow.GI

Hi Nancy, I grew up in Nappanee In. till moving to PHX in 1977. Just wanted to say I would not put Dave down as he and Fran have always given me nothing but respect and care. I understand Dave's position well as I am a School counselor and I am one Counselor for 1200 students in Mesa.I get the fun of covering 60 classes every month with teachers who change their schedules with me all the time, often at the last moment. I know Dave has same issues. Bless you all that make it POSSIBLE for us grown up kids to continue to play on the field. We are the blessed ones and I thank Dave and rest for letting us play. GI

Hi Jeff I look forward to pitching for you this year as I turn 65 in March. Nice to play with guys who show a lot of class over the past 15 years playing against you with CJS and other team. I look forward to seeing you in Lake Havisu this weekend for couple of practice games to get ready for Feb in Vegas. I think with some of new guys picked up and also several new AZ guys we should have a fun season. We are so blessed to play a child's game and also to enjoy honest friendships that God has made it possible to be on the field against. Bless you for asking me to play with you this season. GI

Discussion: 1-1 or 0-0 Count

Sounds reasonable to me . have 65 and under start 1-1 and every 5 years change 1-1 for 70 group and so on every 5 years. After 15-20 years years all will play 1-1. Which most played any way when they were younger. I played 1-1 until I reached seniors. GI Happy New year

Discussion: SURVEY RESULTS

I also would be interested in voting. I have been pushing for 1-1 since it stopped after playing as a youngster and started playing senior. Bless you guys for looking into this as I would have loved to vote but did not get anything maybe it could have gone to junk mail. Many of you know that Senior Softball has a special place in my heart not only for letting me play but each year Terry and Rest have helped our Children's Home in Mesa each Nov.. As a pitcher I hate the 0-0 count as a batter the same because if I do swing at first pitch and not get a hit I could expect to hear the chatter from teammates. I am very hopefull it passes for 1-1 count. My nightmare will be if it is passes for 40's through age 60 and stays at 0-0 count for 65 and older division. I will start playing65's this year for first time as I turn 65 in March. I will play no matter what the decision and I am thankful for the chance to continue to play a child's game. Bless all of you and I look forward to a new season. Hugs, Gary Ingle

Discussion: Thanks senior softball- Sunshine Acres Golf tournament

I just wanted to thank Terry and his wonderful crew for helping again this year with the Sunshine Acres Golf tournament. We had 180 plus golfers Friday and the supper, auction went very well. Each year God continues to help us raise more money to raise needy homeless etc children in Mesa. Last year we raised over one Hundred Thousand for the one day golf event. We hope to reach this amount or better again this year with our 20th annv of Golf tournament. If any ever get the chance please stop by Home at 202 and Higley road in Mesa and take a tour. Terry you need to come back and see new areas since your last took tour. I missed not playing 60's Winter Worlds this year but look forward to 65 with Vegas Rezults team in Feb and God willing maybe I can catch on with a 60's team.I see CJS who I played last 12 years for walked through Fri tournament, Hope they can do as well through Sunday. Miss those guys a lot but it was fun to play them two weeks ago and was winning pitcher for the three games we played against them Best of luck to all this weekend. Remember God has a plan for each of us and it is such a victory to just step on the field. I count it a real honor to recently starting my 40th year working with youth in the PHX area and I hope for a few more. Hugs to all my friends. Gary Ingle
