The ICAP will be out in the spring and will end the shaving issue and concerns. It will also allow composites to return. I have heard many Parks and Rec's are going to make bats have an Icap.

I am about 1/2 your size and most of our team are of normal size. Our GBA bats have 300 to about 1000 hits. We hit 5 days a week. Twice a week I play in the east valley ASA senior league and have been use the new Spirit GBA. So it is good to hear you have also had success with the GBA.

I picked this up from softball fans senior board. http://www.softballfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=920816

I have never written something like this but maybe my story will help motivate others in the future. I dont like talkin about myself as I feel embarassed and ashamed, how could this happen to me. I was getting my knee replaced but a week before xmas I found out I had a cancer(not in my family)as I was devasted and shocked. On Xmas eve I had a kidney and tumor taken out and after 17 lonely days in the hospital I was set free, cancer free as 3 doctors told me during my stay...3 months later it was back and has spread, again total devastion but I learned nobodys perfect-the doctors did their best. Now daily I take my"chemo pills" and continue to lift weights and hit softballs with my buddy but its not the same-I am hitting the ball 100 feet less than I could before. About a month ago I talked with Bill for 30 minutes and then bought a veteran which I now have about 500 hits on it(I could not believe a busy man like him would talk so long to me as I am nothing special)..my buddy bought a new Ultra and we compared it to the vet, both hit about 300 feet for him but we both like the balance and durability of the vet. Last week I finally had a break-thru,a couple off the fence and now today also,so I called Bill for about the 5th time and worked out a deal;this man is "class" and has always returned my calls quickly along with inspiring me to keep trying. I cant say enough good things about him,and with his help and my God I will continue to fight this disease and learn to live with it...I know I will never play again but look forward to batting practice because his bat has brought joy again back to my life...God Bless this man and his company and forever live "God Bless America".....johnzee

I second that. The GBA is every bit as good if not a tad better than the U2. We have 7 bats will well over 300 hits.

Discussion: ASA bats if you are under age

Our league is thinking of a new rule that if you are under 65 you must use a ASA bat. It seems that the guys 65+ just don't want a senior bat missle (this is a rec level league) to deal with. Anyone else have this type of rule and if so how is it working?

We now have six GBA bats here. One cracked but the company replaced it right away and it has been solid. I would say that the bats have well over 200 hits and know for sure mind has about 400. There is no debate about performance. Not one guy thinks there is another senior bat that can out hit it. The consensus is the GBA is the same but it is looks like it will last much longer. Looking forward to the ASA model as I have to play ASA when I get back to Arizona.

Wanted to add to the post that for seniors that need a ASA bat in the bag as well GSC is bringing out the Spirit GBA in a few weeks. Have not hit it but my guess is it will be right there with other ASA bats and it has GBA on the barrel according to the pictures on the web site.

My GBA had this seam problem.
There was a small group of GBA bats (ony about 4 or 5) that had a seam issue. Those bats have been or are going to be replaced. Please note that there are over 300 of these bats out on the field and only a handful had this problem and as I said all those bats have been taken care of. You know that poo poo happens and the customer service from GSC is second to none.

I also thought you would like to know that GSC shipped out 12 bats to Iraq this week for the a softball tournament for the troops. Someone caught wind on the God Bless America on the bat and asked if they could send a dozen out to the troops there. I just thought this was cool.

Here is the email I got from the guys that hit the GBA bat.

Tom,
Thanks for letting us use this stars and stripe bat. We had a white Veteran and liked it but this thing is unbelievable. Over four days we had 12 guys hit it and put about 500 hits. The bat is dirty but just like new and no signs or sounds of cracking. Performance is second to none in our opinion. If there is a better senior bat out there we have not hit it but still some will keep using their Combat or U2. This one is end loaded and I like a balance but not a big deal. Sounds a little off but you get use to it and after 200 or so hits it sounds great.
The part we liked the most is the God Bless America on the barrel. Nice to see and a great touch. Wondering if you wanted this back or can we pay you for it.

Take Care,

Bob C.

I am not that good of a hitter to judge so I gave the bat to some big hitters that use the U2. Let's see what they say.

I got one last year in Az and still have it. It is a good bat with fair pop. At $99 it would be a good bp bat I think.
