Dec. 16, 2015 Dancer 115 posts | We still Play Another senior player and I were discussing senior softball. He was saying it is amazing we can still play at 55. He was saying not very many people playing at our age. We live in Houston, an area of 4 million people. We only have 3 senior softball leagues that I know about, and only one of them have any kind of size in it, the other two are small. I still do play in younger leagues, but play in senior too. I am just thankful I still can play. I started playing at 29, and at the time I thought I would be through by 35. I was wrong, LOL. I just love softball and will play until I can't do it anymore. |

Dec. 16, 2015 Dancer 115 posts | Yea Hemi, I agree about still living. Ever since I join Senior League, I get messages about who is in the hospital and who died. Lets me know, at any time I could go. I just hope it is on a softball field. Actually, the guys older than me are my inspiration. I look at it as "if they can still play, then maybe I can too". |
Dec. 17, 2015 daddymanz 12 posts | I turn 72 today and still making left turns around the bases. Feeling very lucky and blessed. Merry Christmas to all. |
Dec. 17, 2015 CV3 108 posts | Hats off for the Love of the game. I left my orthopedic one of our Softball Magazines that had the issue of playing until the age of 80's. Now my question to him is, can he keep me on field until then. This is after having 4 other orthopedics suggesting that I find another sport. As I told them I'll find another orthopedic before quitting SOFTBALL. Which I did and he said keeping me on the field and off the recliner should not be a problem. So to those who play the older division you will always remain my hero's :) EVERY DAY ON THE FIELD IS A GIFT FROM GOD !!! HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS.. SEE YA IN 2016 :) |
