Yes, Ratings again...
I have been educating managers and players with the ratings criteria, specifically the +5 average margin in all games with like age and classification in three (3) qualifying events. So we just got bumped today to major and our rival from Oregon remains AAA. We just beat them and won in Salem. They beat us in the championship in Rock N Reno. Our margin? +4.7...

YOU SHOULD EDUCATED THE SSUSA ALSO. WE PLAYED IN 6 SSUSA TOURNAMENTS IN A ROW AND WON 10 AND LOST 21 WITH A RUN MARGIN OF -5.9 AND CAN NOT MOVE DOWN TO AA AS THEY ARE ONLY COUNTING OUR LAST 21 GAMES WE PLAYED VS OUR AAA TEAMS. MUST BE A NEW RULE NOW. DID NOT COUNT THE AA TEAMS THAT BEAT US DURING THAT TIME OR THE MAJOR TEAMS EITHER. LOL IF THEY ARE NOT GOING TO FOLLOW THEIR OWN GUIDELINES, AND ADD NEW RULES WHENEVER THEY WANT, THEN WHY HAVE ANY TOO START WITH. NOT RIGHT OR FAIR. ITS GIVING THE SSUSA A VERY BAD REP.

Just to clarify DEEDENNY, the run margin criteria only includes our (your) games against same age, same class teams. The other games with or without equalizers are considered unreliable indicators of your rating within your specific age/classification. I get that and agree. I also tell everyone I talk to on this topic that this is not a punishment of I, me, my team, it is a protection of the other (100?) teams in the age/class and the classification system itself. Unless some mistake was made, we're going to suck it up and not change a thing. We might consider picking up a M+ or three (3) before Las Vegas or maybe next year. I had the major tag but got a medical waiver with cancer last year. Now we have three (3) MORE guys that could get a medical waiver of their Major tags, and yet we are playing at the top of AAA. Just wish we could have bumped ourselves by winning Worlds in September. Ah well, life would be less interesting without challenges. Last time I got bumped with a team, I agreed to manage the team on a Saturday in February, On Monday I got the call we were Major. I didn't want to play Major, let alone manage, but I made a commitment and could not maintain my integrity and quit at the same time.

Shane, how about a bump after 1 tourney, in which 3 games went 8 innings (very easily could have lost any of them)? Championship game was a 1 run game. First year team with only 2 players that have ever played M+.

Hi Shane:

If they were going to bump your club up this is way to late in the year to do it. You guys have a good team but to do it near the end of the season is a poor decision.

Thanks:
James

The number of innings has no impact on their decision. Number of teams, average run differential, record and overall finish. These items do have an impact.

Lee,
I get you that it doesn't but it should as it shows how competitive the two teams are with each other.

1 tourney does, as they say they want to base it on results from 3 tourneys. Tourney 2 was a 3rd place finish (6-3 record).

Just wondering how difficult it is to enter scores that are posted on a daily basis at the tourneys. The TD's are at their desks at the ball parks and majority of the time have all the time to enter them on their puter. I understand that there is only ONE person that can enter the scores because its on a program. But that one person SEEMS TO BE ALWAYS BUSY with to much on their plate to do this simple task. IS IT A SECRET TO ALL OF US? Since rating are done off these, what secret are we trying to keep.
Please delegate or have a new program done to make this simple task available.
The entry fee pays for a lot of business related tasks and this task is not one of the hard ones. I understand that a picture is taken of the board and scores and sent off to the person and or persons who do this. Too many things on the plate for the person to get this done, then fix it, PLEASE.
