WHAT IS WRONG WITH SENIOR BALL!!!!
Please look at the VA Beach brackets for 55M and few others if you choose way to many teams in an area that does not have enough fields to accommodate every team so as result we have to play some stupid hours (0800 on Friday) and waste a lot of time. I understand that for the associations is all about the money and is is our decision as players to play on this tournaments, but the Assoc. should be a little more considerate of the players, some of us still have jobs to go to on Monday. The 55M seven teams bracket, there is no reason why the Championship game should be a 2PM on Sunday with the if game at 3:30...but because there is no fields available with a total of 100+ teams playing somebody has to suffer. Abuses like this is why I most likely will stop playing Senior softball and find a new hobby...My 2 cents.

8 a.m. start and a 2 p.m. championship sounds very reasonable. Most players complain that there are not enough teams to justify traveling to the tournament.

We're not running an event in Virginia Beach now, so maybe you really meant Loudoun County ... The 55-Major games and bracket schedule I wrote has Friday pool play at 8:00, 9:30 and 11:00 AM, with a lunch break and bracket starting at 2:00 PM ... Saturday has 9:30 and 11:00 AM, 2:00 and 3:30 PM games and Sunday starts at 9:30 AM and has to play in single file in the bracket to a 2:00 PM Championship and 3:30 PM "If" game ... That's not the sort of schedule component in a 100-team tournament that finds itself in the "complaint department" very often ... [shrug]

Those are perfect game times! Not playing deep into the night, last game Saturday is 3:30 & not finishing at 0 dark thirty on Sunday.

I didn't go to this tournament so I won't comment on the particulars of the bracket set-up. If I had a nickel though for every player that made the comment that senior ball is "all about the money" I could have retired 10 years earlier. In effect associations are businesses, they need to make money to continue on giving us an outlet for our tournament aspirations. Without finances we'd be playing in cow pastures.

...and I don't believe that SSUSA owns the fields. I was under the impression that most are rented for the weekend, (not given free of charge), to SSUSA. Sounds like finances to me.

Wow, would have loved a 8 AM start, we started on Friday in Georgetown Heart of Texas tournament at 6:30 AM, playing three in a row, our fault for losing one game of a best of 3. Hard to get started at the time much less play but it is what it is and same for both teams, actually 6 teams had to do the same thing.

TO paco13 I agree ...playing friday am practice/seed in games is very hard on 50s and 55..We started with 9 players ...Missing a day of work for this torney is just not worth it....WE had 2 teams in 50m+ and @2 teams in 55m+ they put us together we played each other 1 time in practice game then double elim Did not get out till 4pm sunday 4 team torney 3 days SAD .......To mark 44 I hate playing in BLD Fences way to short Major and Major + should never play on those fields ..The 40s played with a 1-1 count when can we please play with that in the 50s and 60s......Was a nice weekend for softball. The field guys did a great job..the torney director did a fine job with the rules he was given ..Reid Miller #4 pitcher team usa
