New Ratings? let the games begin
Just read the new ratings.........Looks like chit is gettin ready to hit the fan.(like we haven't got enough to complain about)...I might as well get this started. How do you move a team to major that won a AAA tournament in the "IF" game to a AA team by 1 run.....and "was awarded" first place in the ISA worlds that got rained out?? Oh by the way can anyone tell me where I can find any info on the appeal process. And how do you register "A New Team"

I don't want to mention team names but I've counted at least 6 teams that didn't get moved up that kicked our butts. One of them had a major player that has his own hitting video and traveled with a homerun hitting exhibition team. They also said we were re-rated as of Nov 1,08 BS. We were rerated Feb 12,09. SSUSA will get an email asking for an explanation of the move. meanwhile I'm checking any Org. thats not in the summit for tourneys for 09

All that I see were 4 in the 50+, two were updated in Jan 2009 and two were updated in Feb 2009. Another one in 55+ was updated in Jan 2009.
The link at the top of this page has the same info as the one on the Home page.

Corky, good luck trying to get an answer from "the decision maker". We appealed last year, never got an answer to multiple emails and calls, and still don’t have the official letter denying our appeal. He does what he wants, when he wants, regardless if he has all the facts or not.

They rated us AAA Nov 1, 2008

They changed the rating to major and left the date as of Nov. 2, 08

Corky, I do not think the official 're-ratings' effort has taken place as you are suggestiong. If it had, many changes would be evident. What is your team's name?

Here is a team that I have the utmost respect for Wong's in SOCAL. They were an excellent AAA 50 team in 07. They won a tournament and got bumped to Major in 08. We saw them a number of times in 08 and they played with a lot of balls and heart. I suspect they could have petitioned down to AAA for 09. They didn't tough ass team, they compete and they are sportsman.

Corky the team that you are refering to with the exhibition homerun hitter only played in one Tourney 2008 (Champaign). The hitter that you referenced only played AAA one tourney. Played M+ after Champaign and M+ 2009.Probably legit not to move them up.

Just wondering. Did everyone who complains about being moved up now do the same when they were "in their prime"? Or did they accept challenges and work to improve both personally and the team to be successful at the higher level, be it in leagues or tournaments?

Hey Everyone,

Where is everyone looking for these rating changes? Or is it that we cannot see them, because SSUSA has back dated the date to the time for their move up? Sneaky again, if that is the case, but some one of you guys figured it out, or are they calling the team managers?

Ken,

Your post was correct. If you remember our forced conversation with Terry in Phoenix, because Fran made the effort to have him come down to the fields and talk to us. He said that he knew nothing about our appeal, and would check it out when he returned to Sacramento. He still has not replied. We also caught him not telling us the truth about knowing about our situation. When I baited him about who reads his emails, and he replied only he does and only he answers them. I told that I had an email from a player that called and emailed on our behalf in 2008, and Terry emailed him back, saying that he would look into the situation and appeal papers and get to him/us. He lied right to our faces. as I brought that email up, and just went right on as if I had said nothing, so I walked off while you finished venting. It is only a sore subject to me now, because I cannot accept being lied to. We were going to move ourselves up regardless, after Phoenix, but we got moved up about 5 months earlier than we expected, because.............who cares any more. LOL!

Please explain how that is causing problems. Seriously, please start to explain your baseless comments.

We always competed to move up, be it to a higher league within our program or to better tournaments. When did that disappear?

I was looking for a date of Feb 13, 2009. Since I don't know many western teams I was checking the rating of a couple here that expect to be moved up. At this time they haven't been moved up.

Hi Bruce how you hitting them? As far as the 50 M+ I've been watching and there has been no movement. The one dated 2-10 I believe is a brand new team. So if they have done some moveups nothing in this division. Hey I visit the Wynn Encore alot for lunch that must have been alot of fun beatiful hotel.

Bruce:........They changed Brickyards rating but did not change the date of the rating.........so it appears we were rated major in Nov.08.....Lecak...I wasn't goin to drop names but with Kayson's grille, Randy Smith,Pinnacle(Mike Valerio) and Doug and Dons still AAA it makes me scratch my head and wonder why?? We can play with anyone inside the fence. Our team defense, speed, and line drive hitters can play with anyone.....The new homerun rule..with anything over the limit being outs even makes it more enticing. We've won 2 major tournaments at AA....2 major tournaments at AAA and look forward to the challenge as major.
Just trying to figure the logic behind the move.

Corky, ok, I see. Kayson's is one of the ones that I checked.

Joe, the weather here is getting better every day!

The only restaurant that I saw was the employees cafeteria. Wait, we did see the bar at the European bathing pool!
Seriously, they do have some fantastic restaurants!
Next time ask them if you can visit the Sky Casino on the top floor!
Suposedly there is another job comming up for the new casino across from the Harley Davidson Cafe.

European bathing pool Oh yeah can't wait till it gets hot. That new one has to be the City Centre you will be here forever on that site, that is the largest construction project going on in the US I think, bring your stuff we may have to steal you from your Florida team. If your in town long enough we're going to try and do some exhibition stuff you should be able to play in those.

We got a kick out of the European pool! It wasn't open yet. If you walk west in the lobby of the Wynn it's right there, I would think most of the "sights" would be in the cabanas. I think I heard they rent for $140 a day.
Corky, Joe and I are doing all we can to help you win your bet!

Dirty, presuming that your question wasn't rhetorical, the idea of teams moving up voluntarily disappeared when they added the word 'Senior' to it. This is true for the vast majority... BUT there have been exceptions to this. This is why I have expressed doubts about teams being willing to do so. IT IS WHAT IT IS... and it isn't likely to change in the short or near term, IMO.
