| Nov. 12 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | Wait a minute. Isn't that an oxymoron? Bouncy SOFTballs. I have a dozen 52x275/300 balls now half Dudley and half Trump. The Dudley hit a little better but they both bounce like new tennis balls when thrown down on hard ground. The balls I was pitching in Phoenix one very hot game against GSF bounced like tennis balls, too. Hmmmmm. Back to the point. Being an infielder most of my career I would get eaten up, dinged and faced but overly bouncy balls. I don't see how a very bouncy ball wouldn't cause more injuries from hit balls than the less bouncy balls we used this year in Phoenix, LVSSA, SPA and NCSSA. And if they are more bouncy given hot hard infields/outfields they would cause MORE injuries than at present. What does anyone think about this and has anyone experienced anything like this when playing with 52 x 375 balls? |
| Nov. 12 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | And there is no doubt in anyone's mind including from inside SSUSA that if they didn't guarantee 1.21 bats and good 44 x 375 balls they wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the record attendance they/we experienced in Phoenix this year or LVSSA or SPA or SSWS or NCSSA. That says it all what seniors and senior ball is about regarding lively bats and balls and anything else is like playing with one's self. Satisfying personally perhaps but not to or for anyone else. |

Joey You as a Frisco liberal you should understand that sometimes you have to save people from themselves. That's how you folks think when it's convenient for you. Maybe you and paraffin face Pelosi should take are hard earned money and pay for all the tournaments and buy HOT BATS for everyone. People might complain at first but they would play if the game was made safer. PEOPLE PLAY BECAUSE THEY LOVE THE GAME ! We can disagree but you know 95%of all people who play now would play no matter what. COME ON MAN! |

THE 44 BALL DOES WAY MORE DAMAGE WHEN A PERSON IS HIT WITH IT THAN THE 52 BALL. and that has been scientifically proved. the 44 ball will have more major surgeries(my league i play in just had 5 for summer session) attached to it than the 52 ball.the 52 ball will leave a bruise,the 44 ball will break a bone.so tell me which ball is safer. |

If I was I would be rich if they keep playing with the same equipment. This guy try's to make us out like evil people because unless you think his way you are a bad person because he is the only one who knows what is the right thing to do. Anyone with a brain and has played knows the livelier the equipment the more likely someone will get hurt. To say the game will be ruined if we would take a small step back and play a safer and more rounded game is ridiculous . Like it or not we have slowed down if I was thirty I would have no problem but I will be truthful I am older I still love the game but not enough to take a chance of getting killed. The MINES BIGGER THAN YOURS CROWD has a right to there opinion and I respect that but as the old saying goes " DON'T PISS ON MY LEG AND TELL ME IT'S RAINING" |

In doing so I have noticed about 6 people who voice there opinion consistently and with great passion. This makes for a great debate and sometimes even viable issues are covered. One person however seems to post only with the intent to antagonise,demean, and whine like a child. This person is an anonymous poster who from his/her posts would appear to be a wanabe athlete. I am only basing this upon the responses this person writes. They all seem to be self serving comments with negative connotations. Try writing something that is positive bud/gal, you will be received (at least your post will),with a much more intelligent format and understanding. Just a thought from a person who puts a face behind a post. |

He doesn't get that we get who he is not and that someone who has qualified to make personal comment about anyone without standing in. We call that gutless and cowardly and don't blame the messenger. That's all I hear at NorCal events like the one I was at earlier today at what a witless and gutless jerk this guy/gal is. Again, SSUSA has a responsibility to enforce it's own code for disparaging behavior or leave us to defend ourselves from irresponsible and unaccountable attacks like from whomever. |

We've been learning, practicing and executing the "rules" of responsible manhood since we was babies and it's the same rules that apply today. If you make personally critical comments about someone else without standing in as yourself you're wrong and gutless and will be treated as such by the men in the community. Anybody who sides with one these guys Robbie, should be ready to live and die with him. Just like in Lonesome Dove. "You ride with an outlaw you die with an outlaw." Studies have shown that when people are/have to be accountable they behave less reckless and disrespectful and are more responsible to/for others. I tried not commenting hoping SSUSA would rise to meet their own standard for disparaging conduct and behavior and nothing. I've offered a zillion times to talk with this person to settle or try to settle whatever differences we might have but he/she refuses at every turn only to use the web-site for self-centered, irresponsible conduct. SSUSA and it's admin needs to stand up for its/our standard for disparaging conduct and behavior and secure the environment for the rest of the community. Lastly, for now. There can be no reasoning or bargaining with a terrorist particularly an anonymous one. None. That person must come identifiable and in good faith if any true solution can be had. |

In fact, he states that without that guarantee, they would only have half the teams. Let’s see if that is true. Phoenix TOC in 2007 326 teams Phoenix TOC in 2008 318 teams Phoenix TOC in 2009 315 teams Phoenix TOC in 2010 329 teams 2007 had NO GUARANTEES of lively bat/ball combo. It had 326 teams. This year had einstein’s praised guarantee. Result? Less than a 1% increase!! Not 100% as einstein claims. After 2007 came two years of a bad economy, but Phoenix still had more that 314 teams. Even if we compare this year’s attendance WITH THE GUARANTEE, to last year’s, we see a puny 4% increase! In other words, once again, facts don’t lie. einstein’s theory is baloney. Only three more teams came this year than the previous high. What a turnout in support of lively balls and bats! einstein’s claim of endorsement of lively bats and balls by this year’s “huge” turnout is spurious, invalid, wrong. ‘Nuf said? |
| Nov. 15 einstein Men's 50 3112 posts | We've been using minimum, 44x375 balls in all SSUSA events for a while now and before that it was 47 or 44 x 525 balls. Before all the "movement" to dumb down our game, TD's didn't have to guarantee the balls because the high caliber of balls WAS A GIVEN. What an amalgam of intellectual fluff and as usual completely off the mark. When seniors know the bat/ball combo is going to be good enough to have fun they invest. That's what SSUSA, SPA, NCSSA and LVSSA have learned and all demonstrate. Game, set and match. Let me say it again because it feels so good. Game, set and match. |

But older issues will show a different bat standard. 44\375 balls 1.21 bpf bats But I would assume, like many other issues here, the bucket for that has holes in it so the water will leak out. |
