Discussion: Moving bases

I am all for moving the bases back another 10 feet or so as it will not only make the game a little safer for infielders but also put more D back in the game. Steeling bases or lead offs not such a good idea in slow pitch because the catcher gets to many bad bounces at home. You would also need an extra Ump (more money) and imagine how much longer a game would take to play.

I have no problem with the Ultra & Synergy SCX2 being disallowed when using a COR 47 525 Comp ball or better but when an association goes down to a 44COR ball or less, at our age, ALL BATS should be OK for use (with perhaps some consideration for fence distances) and NSA needs to get their head out of the A$$ regarding the Miken Freak.

Do they also have a 50 over? Or is it just 65/70. Does anyone have an e-mail contact?

That sounds interesting. Never heard of it though. Where can we get more information on this tournament? Contacts, web site etc?

Discussion: Run Through

I would not be favour of a run-through rule for the 50/55 age group. I like the rule the way it is. I prefer running the bags, being agressive & sliding. Having a force play on each bag takes the agreesive running out of the game...in my opinion.

Discussion: Miken Velocit-e (VII) Bat

I bought 2 of them late last year and at first thought they were just ok as far as pop goes. I stayed with it using it in BP a lot probably had about 500 or more hits on it and it started to come to life. It was real hot for a while but then it broke. I did not notice any paint delaminating though, just some chips where it cracked.

I have been using the other one I bought a fair bit this year but worked it in with a rubber hammer first. It's been pretty decent but we are still not talking Ultra good. I also tried a friends Freak and it's much hotter. I liked the Freak so much I have 1 on order.

Hope that helps

Convenors could hand out better prize packages if they want to attract teams.

All your bats would work well with a bat-heater.com Not so sure about the rest of your body though and have a feelin' the ball may explode when you hit it.
