Discussion: Major Plus

One of the reasons why lower rated teams prefer not to play against Major Plus is player (pitcher) safety. The big hitters are forced to keep the ball in the park when they play lower division rules, and mistakes happen.

Put a screen in front of the pitcher (vs. Major Plus), and there would be less objection.

C'mon guys, give Cerce a break - you don't know him like I do. Although I've never met him, we've been maintaining a close relationship these last few years online. He has impressed me with his pitching skills - truly a future HOF candidate. He has been an inspiration to me, and I will cherish our relationship for the rest of my life

Sincerely,

Notre Dame grad.

Discussion: Best leadoff hitter

Sorry guys, but I am the best lead off hitter of all time: .950 average, hit for power, run like a deer, and lie like a rug (and this is one of the weirdest threads in a long time).

Discussion: survey

I voted yes for the 1 and 1 count (and I also would be in favor of raising the height limit on pitches). Not sure if 1 and 1 count speeds up the game, but it does give a little more of an advantage to the pitcher than what currently exists.

Wow - this discussion has really degenerated into a junior high name calling contest. If senior softball players have to resort to this type of thing, I guess we shouldn't complain about our leaders in Washington...

C"mon guys - can't we all just get along?

Discussion: Vegas Worlds Roster rules

Unfortunately, Gary, there probably are managers out there that discourage their worst few guys from attending the worlds by telling them their playing time will be limited - not too many guys want to spend that kind of money to sit.

Discussion: Vegas Worlds Roster rules

Need some help on the roster rules for Vegas: Can a team pick up a few players to fill out their roster? Or could a player whose team isn't going to Vegas play with another team? Thanks for your input...

Discussion: Question for TD's

Looking forward to the NCSSA Championships in Manteca this weekend (Norcal). Only problem is - the schedule isn't out yet, and a lot of players who live an hour away (or more) are still trying to figure out whether to drive home Saturday night or make lodging arrangements - all depends on the game schedule.

So my question is this: what is an acceptable "deadline" for posting tournament schedules? 3 days advance notice? One week? I know it's not an easy job to pull all this together, but some of us working stiffs need to plan ahead...

Discussion: Acknowledgement of Risk, Release and Waiver Form

This weekend is the NorCal (NCSSA) Hall of Fame tournament at the Big League Dreams Park in Manteca, where all participants are being asked to sign the "Acknowledgement of Risk, Release and Waiver Form" before being allowed to participate.

Hmmm, don't remember being asked to sign a waiver at any other tournaments. Is this the wave of the future?
