Discussion: which do your prefer on a 5 game guarantee?

SSUSA has a 5 game guarantee for most tournaments.
It is either a 3 game RR, then DBL elimination or
2 game RR and a 3 game wrap around
Which do you prefer and why?

I like the 2 game RR , then the 3 game wrap around.
It makes more of the games actually mean something.

Lets hear what everyone thinks

Its a good place to sell, buy or trade equipment.

Thanks

Discussion: Arrogance can hurt a pitcher

What is the difference of not using a screen and playing in front of it? Is it stupid to NOT use the screen if that is an option?
I don't like the screen, it hurts my defense when we play in tournaments because you get used to just "hiding" behind it.
A pitcher who covers up the middle can have a big difference in a game.
Just my 2 cents
Brett
PS. I have been pitching for close to 30 years and still love the action in the middle.

Discussion: any results info for Cullman Tourney?

I agree with you, put all of us in the same bracket
make it 3 hrs + one up (outs if over the limit) and PLAY BALL. We are all about the same..
I would love to have more than 2-3 teams in a bracket
FYI We average about 2 hrs a game on a good day and they make us play major because a 60 team came in 2nd in Vegas and got moved up to major plus and never played a game in that division. That's why they are playing 55, they can't play major plus.
Our average age is around 62. We have 3 65/over players.
But what can you do, show up and play.
Hope to see u at the next tournament.

TN Connection 55

PS.. I think a team should place in the top 5 in Vegas 2 years in a row before they automatically get moved up.
(This would show some sort of dominance)
We build teams to try and compete, and when you do, they move you up and most teams break up because they aren't built for the move up or there is no place to play (in the south anyway)
Just my 2 cents

Discussion: Can SSUSA list teams already in Gallatin?

There is no place to see who is going to the Gallatin, TN tournament
SSUSA staff, will you please list the teams already registered?
This should be done on all tournaments as the teams are entered.
We all like to be informed.
Thanks

If I am wrong and there is a place to see the list, I apologize now.
Just let me know where to go to see it.

Come try out this message board.
It started out well, but trying to get more players to get involved.
There have been 85 players to register and many more come try it out.
You can talk about anything on here with no association or bat company restrictions.

Discussion: Come try out the new message board...

I talked to a bunch of players this weekend in Valley, Alabama.
Some liked the new message board, some didn't know about it.
It just another place for all the softball players to have discussions, sell equipment, find new tournaments, players, etc.
Its free and easy.
Come take a look and join the fun.

Discussion: its a little long, but please give your opinion......

In SPA, the rules for teams playing other teams out of their division are as follows.
The "lower" team gets 5 runs (1 per the first 4 innings and 2 in the 5th)
The game is played with the "lower" runs per inning and the "higher" HR rule

IMO , this makes it VERY hard for the "upper" team to win unless they do it in the opening inning.(one blank inning and its about over)
I think it should be played under the "lower" HR rule and the "upper" runs per inning rule.

This would also make it more fair for the lower team (which doesn't hit as many HRS) and would give the "upper" team more chances to get back the five runs they had to give the "lower" team

I also think the 5 runs should be given at the start of the game to save all the confusion with the scorekeepers.

Please let me know what everyone thinks.

Just trying to make it better for everyone.
Hopefully the masses will be heard one way or another.

Discussion: Others' Thoughts on the Importance or Merits of 3 Pool Games Prior to Brackets?

I would like to have a 5 game guarantee (like we used to have) in the 55s. We pay $25 less than the other divisions and only get a 4 game guarantee.( in Mobile) (Fees are high enough to get the extra game) As for most of my team, we travel an average of 6 hours to play. I would like to get the most softball for my time and money.
Make it a 2 game in the RR and a 3 game wrap around in the brackets.
I am not sure why the 50 and 55 play 4 and the older divisions play 5.
Just my 2 cents worth.
