Discussion: White Centenarian Short barrel

Friend and I ordered 2 and each have atleast 600 hits and are both very hot. Both have a few paint chips, but no problems. We both have decided to order 2 more- - just alittle lighter because we both think they swing heavier. very happy with bats although for us it took awhile to break in.

Discussion: What do you pay in your local leagues

Here at Saddlebrooke, your first year you'll pay $120 plus $40 for a pair of shorts and 2 shirts, after that it is $120 for each year which consists of 4 different leagues that have 4 seasons - -we play year round and if you like, you can play in all leagues every season with no additional cost. It's possible for a player to play maybe 200 games a year if your body can take it. We have volunteer umpires, a great field to play on, balls are furnished and ages are from 50- - 60 and a few in their 70's with one who is 80 and he's a pitcher. We have approx. 100-120 players depending on the season. Here at Saddlebrooke LIFE IS GOOD or should I say GREAT!!!

A friend of mine purchased a new black U2 and he hit it approx. 100 hits and said he thought it was dead and he asked me to hit it. I did approx 75 hits and the deepest one I hit was 290 feet. I have owned or hit 50 ultras and this one is the worst hitting one by far. The bat is dead. I told him to send it back to Miken for replacement. My friend said he would keep it for batting practice. My opinion is Miken has some very bad bats out there. I think their quality control must be lacking.

I agree with Doc and wood--Omar you are determined-- but I firmly believe the majority like the way it is now and you don't even try to hear us say how we feel. You have your agenda and don't listen or hear anything unless it is how you feel. Do you really think you are convincing and changing other peoples minds? I guess at times it makes for a good discussion, but it gets same old same old. At least hear us.

Maybe 280 fences with asa bats would be the answer or 275 -280 with 52-300 balls with whatever bats.

colt, I hit the white again today and I must say it is hitting better and better. Today it out hit my reebok. You might win that bet. I probably have approx. 175 hard hits on the white combat now. It now has a little webbing alround, but I can't tell any sound change yet.

We have had no problems with paint with our white combats, I hope they will start hitting like yours hit it far. colt I think it has potential so thanks for the offer - - I'll just keep it.

I would like to add that my friend has hit his combat more than I have hit mine and after hitting a lot yesterday his last 2 hits were home runs, the last hit about 325' and he was very tired - - so I think I will give it maybe another 100 hits to open up or see if I stsrt to like it more. colt if things don't change I may trade with you if you can tell me who you purchased it from.

We both hit our new white combats again today and they did open up more, he has decided that he will use his as a bp bat and if it gets better then he will use in a game. He is crazy about the red mikens even tho he breaks one at least every 2 -3 months. I hit the combat another 60 hits today for a total of around 135 hard hits with 60 half swings to start. Today I also hit my new reebok 27oz bal. ,with 6o half swings then 60 hard hits. I must say that I prefer the reebok at this point. It maybe that I just hit better with a balanced bat,and also the combat may take longer to open up. I also think the combat will last longer because for both of us the breakin seems slow- - I guess we are not as heavy hitters like some on this board. I will update after every hitting practice. I hope I've not ruffled any feathers, but at this point I like the reebok much better.

A friend and I hit our new white combats last week and we both hope they will open up this week, I ordered a28oz and I wish I would of got a 27 because I normally swing a balanced bat. I also just got a new 27oz bal. Reebok which I will hit today and I can't wait to compare the two bats. Will update later.

Discussion: Reebok Melee

I have a question about Reeboks-- I have had 3 senior Reeboks and the first was great, probably the best senior bat I've had and it broke after approx 400 swings. The last 2 have been the worst-- I traded for these and have no idea where they were bought, my question is-- does anyone know for sure if there are fake Reeboks being sold and are they sold on ebay?

Discussion: reebok vis a vis ultra....a year later

I have a bal.27oz reebok that has developed a small crack with approx. 275-300 hits on it. I did use u2's before and my last new u2 lasted 80 hits. First 75 hits on reebok I wasn't crazy about it, but since then I like it better than any u2 I've had and I've owned 8. I would grade the reebok the best bat I've ever owned except for the original grey ultra. Others may not agree, but thats my experience.

Discussion: Miken's defective bats

I always put 50-100 breakin practice hits on a new bat,it is then a game only bat for which I then hope to get at least another 100 hits which would be for me an average of 5 at bats per game-so 20 games of use at least. My last 2 new ultra's-1 red and 1 black cracked very quickly. The red after 150swings and the black after approx. 80swings. I know miken can and should make a better bat even if it would have alittle less pop. I have a combat that I haven't broken in yet and when my reebok breaks I will switch to it.

I have owned approx. 10 u2's and now 1 reebok and I must say for me the reebok has been all around the best. I will try the new core when it comes out,but for now I'll buy no new mikens.

Discussion: Miken's defective bats

Most mikens I've had lasted 200+ swings,my last new one purchased was a bal.28oz and it lasted approx.60-80 hits and thats not ok with me, miken needs better quality control or they will loose alot of customers.
