Don't know exactly, but the runner is out for interfering with throw and batter is declared out due to the interfering of the throw. I'll look it up to see if I can find anything more specific..

Discussion: Intentionally dropped ball

A batted ball, not infield fly, that is intentionally guided to the ground, batter is out. Any infield fly that is intentionally dropped or let to fall to the ground, batter is always out. Runners may advance at their own risk. They are not obligated to advance being that the batter is out and that removes the force.

SSUSA---- 7.6 • BATTER IS OUT
F. When members of the team at bat interfere with a player attempting to field a fly ball.
EFFECT: §7.6 A-F: The ball is dead and each runner must return to the base legally occupied at the time of the pitch.

It should be runner is out and all runners return to their TOP base unless forced to advance by the B/R becoming a runner. In this instance with less than two outs runner and batter shall be declared out.

With 2 outs Batter is declared out. The batter leading off the next inning is the player following who follows the batter declared out in the batting order.

Discussion: 65s to 1-1 or not 1-1

I understand all that, but I continually get so much pushback on the forum with the most minute of things. I'm not trying to toot my own horn. It's just that I've been privileged to have learned so much over the years, I'm only trying to share it.

All I'm suggesting are wording changes to align SSUSA rules with all the rule sets I've read. Merely to clarify the interpretation of a few rules. I may try next time. This last time I've spent quite a bit of time in the hospital doing stem cell replacement therapy.

Hope you have a great holiday season.

I thought about submitting something in writing, but then I figured why waste my time. Just common sense stuff too. However, it more than seems that ego gets in the way. If there is this much bickering over a 1-1 count...I find I hit better with a 1-1 count because the pitcher will more often try to come in a fat pitch early especially if the first pitch is a ball.

Again, batting position, where does it state partially outside? You've been wrong so many times, I'm not surprised that you don't know this simple rule.

Read the rule. It doesn't say ONLY NEEDS SOME PORTION OF BOTH FEET. It clearly states MUST HAVE SOME PORTION OF BOTH FEET ON OR INSIDE THE LINES. Note where the words PARTIALLY OUTSIDE don't appear. I'm beginning to wonder if know what a batter's box is.

FYI ~ I've been fully aware of where a batter's feet can be when they make contact with the ball for a very long time.

I've tried to explain this several times, but some people like to add words to the rule and hurl insults. I still can't find the word outside. But I'm the one who can't speak English.

Might well delete this. I'm tired of talking to a brick wall that can't umpire itself out of wet paper bag on his best days.

Good luck to anybody that gets this guy for any of your games.

I WOULDN'T TAKE EXCEPTION TO THE WORDING, BUT YOU HAVE SOME YAHOO'S WHOSE INITIALS RHYME WITH E K THINK THAT SOME PART OF THE FOOT CAN BE TOUCHING OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. I DON'T NEED AN ENGLISH LESSON. YOU NEED A LESSON IN HOW TO GRAMMARTIZE IS WHAT I'M ALLUDING TO.

AND TALKING DOWN TO PEOPLE DOESN'T MAKE YOU SMART. IT MAKES YOU LOOK LIKE AN *******

I'LL LET YOU HAVE THE LAST WORD.

It would help if you would define what constitutes being in the box before the pitch. The SSUSA is the worst I've ever read.

Discussion: Anyone get the Efflexxa shots for thier knee OA?

I don't actually know everything about the shots, but I got the same similar shots when they first came out. 40 bucks an injection. It is now covered by some insurances.

When they do mine, they usually have to drain water off first. The first set is cortisone and the next three are the gel.

Its helped me a lot. Still can't get up off the floor without assistance though. Lol.

Louie, he could run fine. I don't know exactly why they failed, but I could hear one making a strange noise.

I believe he had them done at the VA. You might even be able to run yourself eventually.

Good luck though. Hope things go well.

Discussion: Use one up for home runs this year

Tim,

I am perfectly aware of the rule and it makes no sense if the player is in the game legally.

If a scorekeeper can't look at a lineup card and determine a BOOO and especially how to appeal such, then they don't need to be awarded with what is essentially a freebie for an illegal substitution.

Another thing to remember is the player was probably only getting a last at bat, but also spent several dollars to attend this tournament.

You're right about one thing, I wasn't there to witness the debacle. Y'all need to rethink some of your rules and what they actually accomplish.
