A.D. Starr bats
Anyone of you distributor's have any info on this bat? Mostly white with the sweet spot area with a gritty type surface that might outlast the lightening tacky surface. Saw one today in St. G. Supposedly the designer had this surface around before the Dudley's. Never heard of this company.

DieselDan, these bats are the Nightmare and are created by Kevin Schulstrom (Tattoball on this site). I have a 27oz which has a 2 ounce end load. They also have a 28 oz with a 3 ounce end load.
There are several big boys in Senior ball who have been swinging the Nightmare quite successfully. In addition to Kevin, Mark Canegallo (Buddah) and Pete Smith (from NJ) are guys I know who were swinging this bat back in the Fall when I bought mine in Virginia at the ISSA Nationals.
It took me quite a while to get used to the extra end load but I now like the feel and performance of this bat. It is very durable and I have heard of several guys who have several thousand swings on theirs.
I will use either this bat or the Dudley Lightning this year once we get to actually play some softball in Oklahoma!

I have close to 900 swings on my 27oz Nightmare. It's a great bat for those who like a end load. Kevin has been a great guy to work with. I think this is a great bat just to have. Everybody I know that got this bat loves it.

I have a 26oz and it has pretty good pop...no problem hitting it out. We'll see about it's durability, but it's encouraging hearing someone has 5000 swings on theirs.
