NSA World Championships-July30-Aug. 1st
I am trying to find out who are some of the teams going to Boaz.Alabama for the 50 Division, NSA Worlds Championships to be held on July 30th - Aug 1st, we (The Indiana Classics 50 AAA ) played in it last year, and found that is was a well run tourney with decent balls and good umpires, fields were ok, it was held in Gadseen ,Alabama last year, so i can not tell about field in Boaz. the cost is $420.00,for at least 5 games, 3 seed game and a double elimanation, they have major plus,Major, AAA, and I am not sure offor sure,AA. the awards were nice also, 1st-3rd place, indivdiuals on 1st and 2nd place teams,12 All-world team players, MVP,Best defensive. You must have played in NSA or SPA tourney to get in ,
The entry fee dealine is July 17th, contact
Joe Cothran,NSA State Director at 256-492-3020,or NSA office at 859-887-4114, I hope he can get a good number of teams,. So please if you are coming ,post it on the web and hope Joe gets a lot of teams and I hope to see you there, drop by and say hi, Rabbit, coach of Indiana Classics.

The Houston Texans 55 Major + will be playing in Cullman that same weekend. I second Rabbit's comments about last year's tournament when we played in Boaz...well run with good balls and umpires.

For additional information, you might want to check the NSA website for the tournaments under WWW.ALABAMANSA.COM. There is a wealth of information about each age group's tournament including some hotels.

I'll be in Gadsden with Teeter's 60's, AAA. I've heard good things about this tournament for the last several years. I'm looking forward to finally getting to play it.

Is it correct that one can not hit the Synergy SCX2 in NSA? I have looked at their approved bat list and it is obviously not on it but I keep being told,"Yeah, you can hit the SCX2".

Last year in Boaz players on the Alabama 50's were told that they couldn't use the Crush. I had looked online before the weekend and found that the Crush was an approved bat. I used my bat but late in the game I was told that it wasn't approved. I hope this year the TD has a copy of approved bats!

Crusher,
I'll look you up in Gadsden. You and I have probably played against each other in some of the Ark, Ok, Tex tournaments over the years. I played with the old Texas Tornado 50's and 55's until this year.

The Easton SCX2 (which is the original Synergy) is definitely not approved for NSA play. People are probanly confusing it with the Synergy 2, which is a new model this year. The synergy 2 (I don't know the model #) is on the approved list. I am positive about this info, as I was unable to swing my SCX2 at the end of the year, last year. Hope this helps answer your questionSam.

BillyMac is correct, the SCX2 isn't approved in NSA but the SCX22 (Synergy 2) is and the SCX23 (Synergy +) is also approved according to their website.
I just broke my SCX2 and Easton is replacing it with my choice of either the Synergy 2 or +. I chose the +. I hope it will be here and ready to use for Culman.
