I am in the process of purchasing a new bat, league rules require it to be asa approved. Have been looking for several weeks and not sure what is the best bat to purchase. I have looked at the Demarini J2 but again not sure. Has anyone used this bat? Any other helpful ideas would be appreciated. With bats costing $299.00 I want to make sure I purchase the best one.

Bobby D,
You can't get them anymore, but my first choice would of been the Miken Red Recoil ASA, since I don't believe you can get that bat, I would go with the New Easton Synergy Salvo, it's an ASA bat, but we have players who use it in Senior Tournaments, good quality bat out of the wrapper, and gets better. Cost $199.99.

Good luck........

Go to Softballfans.com, they have a bat review section and it's a great place to buy used bats at a good price.

Just like I said, the Miken Red Recoil and the Easton Salvo, both had great ratings.........

hate to agree with #6 but they are good bats, also you might want to look at the freak DST, or freak x-700(both by miken).demarini juggernaut also is pretty good.
might want to check ebay out for recoils,as i have seen some there.

mad dog,
I bet that broke your heart having to agree with me....there may be hope for you yet !

BTW, The Miken DST is not a very good bat or it takes a very long time to break it in !

TOP 10 ASA BATS (according to Kelly's)

1. Worth 454 Filthy Midload

TIE 2. Worth Mayhem 98 Orange Original

TIE 2. Miken Super Freak 98 Midload

3. Miken Freak FX 700 Supermax

4. Miken Freak FX 700 Balanced

5. Worth 454 Toxic Balanced

This is 5 of the top 10 asa bats on Kelly's, I dont know about the synergys but there are a lot of them out there. I really dont know who to trust anymore but these guys at kelly's so far have treated me right. I personally bought the #1 bat on this list, there are three of us on the team swinging it, takes a bit to break in but for now am very happy with it for asa play!

ernie the new easton salvo's are a good bat, they do need a little break in time tho,and they seem to swing a touch light.i swung a guys 30 oz(to help him break it in) and thought it felt more like a 28.i usually swing 26 oz bats and didn't seem to have a prol swinging his 30.

been hearing things about the 454's but haven't never been around one, those mikens along with the DST's i have and they seem to be good.

bruce that is a good bat if ya can find them anymore,i have the FP version(34-24) and like it.

BobbyD: Just returned from traveling. We also have excellent Reebok ASA bats. If I can help you learn more or to get one, let me know. Every bit as good as the competition.
