I believe there are exceptions. For instance, you might be able to add a player from a higher age group.

Discussion: Adjoining State rule

In one or two associations major plus is allowed up to two players outside of the team's home geographical area. There is a stipulation that if the team is, say, east of the Mississippi River, they may only pick up from the east side of the Mississippi.
You should verify these exceptions with each association.

Discussion: Looking for a Senior League Rule

When I coached girl's slow pitch we had a rule that disallowed "intentional" walks. The batter would bat until they got a strike. I would instruct my pitcher to try to throw the first pitch a strike then throw four balls.
My reasoning that we gave the hitter a chance to hit so it wasn't "intentional".
There wasn't any arguing. :)

I have one with a slide instead of a ball on it. It does teach proper wrist snap.

I can answer the last question, "Must a team play in a TOC in order to play at Vegas?"
No

Discussion: Birmingham tourney? PLEASE explain

Brett, you know what they say, "you can't please everyone". I'm playing Wednesday and Thursday with a 65 team and now I am also playing Saturday and Sunday with a 55 team.
Oh well!

Discussion: Rule Joke

A few years ago we played in a tournament that was delayed by rain. When we resumed the base umpire told me that the baserunners, for safety reasons, didn't need to touch the bases, just be close. I then asked how close was close.
He changed his mind and said runners must touch the bases. Lol

Discussion: SPA World tournament in Dalton .... team qualifications

SPA should take a closer look at their methods of moving teams and players up and down. Their national tournament in Dalton has gone from one of the biggest to this year's disappointment.
I attribute it partially to their administration (or lack) of their team and player rating system.

The 55m and 50AAA have the same rating, 7. You should be able to play with the 50 team.

JT may want to check with Lighthouse. They lost Charlie Brown, probably for the season, after an injury in Valley, Al.
Maybe I'll see you in Pensacola this weekend.

Discussion: Umpires- Pitching Rules

The umpires we had at Valley were good and very consistent. I think the reason many complain about the flat pitch is we aren't used to it. A 6' pitch seems very flat, especially if the catcher catches it around his knees or waist. Those that throw it seem to try to stay between 5 and 10 feet. If you have two strikes you might want to be swinging at that "flat" pitch.

Discussion: ACL Surgery Follow up

I had ACL reconstruction 3 or 4 years ago. I couldn't play ball for about 8 months. I wore a Donjoy brace. I did 6 weeks of pt before surgery and then after surgery. I'm playing again and my legs feel better than ever.
Good luck!

Yes Perl, the Atlanta area could probably field at least a couple of teams.
Brett, ASA is showing signs of entering senior softball tournaments. They are looking at low fees as you mentioned.
