2 piece Ultra broke after 6 games..... extremely disappointed
I'm a women's 40s player all of 5'4" 125lbs .... Used my new Ultra 2 two PC bat for the first time in Vegas last month..... 6 games ..... hit well with it and was really loving it. My first at bat here in Reno yesterday the rod inside broke.

What a waste of 220.00!!!!! And the reviews say it was supposed to be more durable. My last black ultra lasted 3 years

this is not right. call miken, tell them your situation, maybe you can get an RMA and return it to be checked out.

you got nothing to lose at this point !

I sent an email and going to talk to the rep tomorrowtomorrow here in Reno. I'm hoping they will do something ....I loved the bat and am really disappointed that it didn't hold up. Other than a few scratches for normal wear ....being tossed aside in the dirt etc it still looks new

Go to the Miiken website, warranty tab, and get an RA number. Send the bat back with a receipt. Miken is very good about replacing "new" damaged bats. Usually takes about two weeks to get your new bat.
Good luck

You will probably have to know someone without a receipt. I got my replacement back in a week. Look like they sent me a blemish bat. Just a little paint defect. The replacement hits a little better than the one that broke. To me I wouldn't buy another miken 2 piece until they fix the durability problem. With the one that cracked after the sound changed the bat broke. So the replacement I have should break at any time.

Boy-O-Boy! Been using the Ambush with good success. Just purchased a two piece Miken as the Ambush is on back order. Hope I have better luck with my two piece then you did my dear.
I really fell like they will help you though.

I showed it to Corkey....he says it's not broke but the knob needs to be re-glued. Sure sounds broke to me but there isn't anything rattling around inside but when it's hit on the ground there's that vibration type sound. He said Miken will fix it so we will see

I bought a balanced Miken 2 piece from Corky in Austin in April and so far I too am extremely disappointed in it. It has no pop, certainly nothing like the Black or Gray Ultra 2's. I have about 80-100 swings on it between games and BP and have seen no improvement. I don't know if it has a break-in period. I sure hope so and I get some improvement. I would advise anyone not to get this bat.

www.directsports.com.............Black Miken Ultra II $164.00 delivered to your door. Bought one, and it is the hottest bat I have ever used, and that is straight out of the wrapper.

I know of a couple of people that have got about 100 swings on their bat when it opened up and they said the bat ungodly. Just giving my .02 worth. I have one I have been hitting and it has 85 swings on it. It is starting to get stupid. All I am saying is don't give up on the bat just yet. You spent good money. If you get a chance put 50 more swings on the bat and put another report down. Just trying to help..

I have two of these bats. The 28oz took about 100 swings to open up and a 30oz that was pretty good out of the wrapper. I was ready to give up on the 28 but when it started to soften up the bat performed great. They have also been very durable from the folks I have spoke to. In our league a lot of the big hitters have switched to them.

Good luck on a replacement but I think they will do you right.

Thanks:

James

Our team broke 4 of these 2 piece Mikens at Reno a couple of weeks ago. All of them broke within 40 swings. All were stupid hot right out of the wrapper, but lasted less than 3-4 games. SO much for them fixing the durability problem.

I broke my third Reebok this year in Reno and bought a 2 piece EL out of frustration (same reason I switched to Reebok 2 years ago. Put about 45 swings on it today, and though it's not broke in yet it is a very good bat. Not as hot as a new Reebok but if it lasts a little longer it will be well worth it. I'm not holding my breath though.

Mario there is no way your team should be an indicator of a bats durability haha. I saw a couple innings at Reno's finest facility, Rancho San Rafael (Reno you should be ashamed)and was wondering who let the football team in.

Good to hear follow up on your bat. Kind of thought they would help you. Have received 4 or 5 of the second run Ambush bats and I noticed they have added a year warranty sticker on the bat. First senior bat I've seen with a warranty. Guess competition is forcing companies to offer some kind of help.
