FYI NSA Worlds in Rock HIll, S.C............
Found out that the NSA Worlds have changed their itinerary for the 50+ division. They ARE going to start on THURSDAY !! Have they ever heard about people still having to work for a living. Over the last few years when it was in Cullman, Ala. they ran the entire tourn. in two day. The S.C. facility has TEN fields and in no way will they have the number of teams that the SSUSA, ISSA, and SPA have, so why the four days for a smaller tourn.??? I know that good teams like to play good competition and if this schedule holds, then I know of a few good teams that will not be going...IF you have any questions, let it be heard here on the message board and if you need names and numbers, I have them for the tourn, directors and the Zone V.P. of the NSA...Thanks.....

To the TD for Rock Hill, SC...NSA Worlds...

Sir...most if not ALL of your 50s group STILL work! A day or two vacation is understandable, taking 3-4 days, expenses of gas and motel is another added expense and quite unnecessary! We did this entire tourney in 3 days max in Alabama, including travel.
I sure think you're 60 + group of mostly retired could do the early Thursday play time, for the most part.

I think I can speak for MOST of the 50s age group...CHANGE THE DATES HERE, so it will be a fun competitive time for all, with more people able to come.
This could VERY WELL knock us out of this tournament for a Thursday start date.

Thank you for you consideration

I usually try to ignore threads like this since the originator does not adequately identify themselves, but I have been involved with NSA for a number of years, and this bothers me as potentially malicious. First the national office is not aware of any changes. The flyer that was given out shows 60s and up starting Thursday and 50s and up starting Friday. No changes have been indicated to the regional office either. I have a calls into the tournament directors and will post what they tell me. Cat is also welcome to talk with me if they like.

I just talked with one of the tournament directors, Michael Poe. There has been no change from the flyer. 50 and 55s start on Friday. Only 60s and over start on Thursday. Michael asked me to post his office number if anyone has any additional questions. It is 919-367-7425.

Nancy;; this is a serious issue. I spoke with a Jim Sutton and David Butler and left messages with Mike Poe. I also spoke at the National level. I will be honest is saying the the NSA does NOT have a grasp on the senior program and trust me, I know. This false information is affecting many teams and I want it to be said straight from the horses mouth when the 50's play. It is too expensive for these tourn. dirs. to be playing around with our traveling money and vacation time. You may also want to speak with Jeff Cothran as he supposedly was in on the decision. Give me your number and I will calll you.

CAT, I am heading for the softball fields, but you can call me tomorrow at work at 317-510-6310. Joe is one of the three directors of the tournament. I talked with our national office and David also; they are supposed to be notified if there are any changes in WS schedules. Mike Poe said that there has been no changes. He and Jimmy are the other two directors for the East World Series. I have been involved with the NSA programs for many years; so I am a little defensive when it comes to them. I can also provide you with a copy of the flyer if you want it.

John, thanks, I try. I had talked with Michael, but I also just sent Jimmy Sutton an E-mail to confirm again because someone else told me that he had told them four days. I tried to get one them to post on here because I only know that we are not playing in it although it should hopefully be a good event. We played it a few years ago, and while it was a good tournament then (and only three days), we were the only AA team in the bracket. Without the five run limit, we were pretty beat up. I did have the privilege of meeting Sideline Grille and their 13th player there.

Hi Nancy,

I play for Kaysons Grille the Sidelines 50+ AAA last year. We are not near the team that won the NSA a few years ago which is the team I think you are talking about. Most of the players from that team are playing still. Most of them are playing Major or Major Plus and some AAA. Who was it that you met while you were there?

Have you heard what 50+ AAA teams will be there this year? Hope to see you there. #19 Kaysons Grille (broken hand and out for the season) but I can still run and I do that once an inning.

I got sort of an interesting answer from Jimmy Sutton. He said that the original plan was for 50 and 55 Friday through Sunday and that he would try to keep to that. I know that I would not want to be surprised by an earlier draw.

Steve, I was invited to come out and umpire, but as much as I would like to, I would have to undo a lot of other commitments here. I do not remember the gentlemen's name on Sideline, but he was the 13th batter when NSA only allowed 12, and we needed an out as they were having a great game against us. I have seen him at a few other tournaments. The last list that I saw on 50 AAA had besides your team the Cobras, OGs, and Detroit Jaguars, but I do not know if there were any additions or deletions since then. Good luck in the tournament.

Steve, the list that I saw this morning for 50 AAA included:
Dayton Legends
Triangle Cobras
OGs
JJ's Jags
Hacker Sign
Kayson's Grille
Tri-County Merchants

For John the 55 AAA included:
Varsity Courts
Southern Softball
Jim and Joe's Ice
Steel Dawgs
M&D Constructors

These were the two biggest brackets. There were 46 teams total in the list.

Fran44, I know that I had a couple of questions to them on the 50 major plus and majors. Here is a link to what they show as of now:

I thought that Specialty Tank, Florida Fins, and Lewis Rental were the same team; so I was surprised to see them listed in both Major + and Major.

A couple of folks have asked; so below is the link for the non-approved bat list for NSA. The Easton listed is the original Synergy.

The senior rules are also online at that site.

I was told that the your team was coming down to play. what happen? The Lewis Rental team is the Fla. Fins which is Johnny Mac's Team. The Tank team is our team from this year if we can get the same players to come the the games have not had the same lineup in any of our games. Between the injuries and no shows it tough to write a lineup card

Fran44, I did not see a CT Sportsplex team listed in the 50 Major Plus; hopefully you are with one of the teams listed. I can see that they made some small changes to the brackets although the time stamp has not changed.

Bruce and JAH#4, thanks for the info. I did not know anything about Lewis Rental, but I know the ratings folks have Specialty Tank and Florida Fins as the same team.

Good luck to all. I wish that I could be there. Jimmy has said that the schedules will be on their website probably sometime today.

There are some changes from what was on the brackets the other day. CT Sportsplex is definitely on there now. I thought that it was interesting that a team moved from 55 AAA to 50 Major.
