Discussion: Western National Tournament location

Making the tournament "more centrally located for all teams to participate" sounds great, but then we should just play every tourney in St Louis then. I think the effort should be to make the tournament as convenient and as close to the original location as humanly possible. Colorado is neither, Reno is both. That being said, we are not playing in Sacramento this year, but if it was moved to Reno we probably would, and we are already playing in Aurora. combining the two reduces revenue but more importantly, it reduces the chances teams have to earn a berth in the TOC. I also think Reno would welcome the revenue that comes with the tournament.

Play it in Reno, cooler temps and is only a 2 hour drive from the original location.

It was just great to be back on the field playing in competitive games again! The Yuma facility was great, cannot wait for the trees to grow and provide some shade! I would love to see that park a part of the regular schedule, just a a different time of the year. To say it was hot out there would be a gross understatement. Overall, a great weekend and a great tournament!

Masks limit healthly people being infected by the sick, if the sick are wearing a mask. Healthy people wearing a mask serves no purpose, and the good Dr, who many people like you Dbax, who are also afraid to leave their houses, have said everything he says is gospel! But, I guess science and the good Dr's statements being good enough is selective.

Didn't Dr Fauci(sic) recently state that masks do not really do anything in the way of prevention???

It would be nice to be home on Sunday for fathers day! With the low number of teams I think it could be accomplished, but then again I am not the guy trying to work out the schedule!

I have read a few articles about the rise in COVID cases in the Yuma area, and what is important to look at is not just the number of positive cases (which is all the media shows because they want to scare you), but look at the number of tests being conducted. The rise in cases is in direct correlation to the Yuma area hitting all time highs each day in the number of people being tested.

Why not just buy the actual SSUSA softball at evilsports.com They are like $49 a dozen and they are the same thing you will be hitting in games.

Dbax, Yuma is a horrible prospect for me in that there is no easy way to get there for me, it is a much longer drive than Hemet. It is nothing to do with the city or the facilities!

While going to Yuma is a horrible prospect, I would still rather to there and play than not play at all! Here is hoping that we play in Yuma!!!

Well, good for you! You are obviously a very special human being. That being said, It is a good thing we have a 1st amendment huh? Because I have a ton of nicknames for California, that one was one of the nice ones. I am not going to get dragged into a political or war of words on this site, that is not was it is for, you have taken my one little comment and went way to far with your being offended. I am not here to argue politics or TDS.

Yuma and Cathedral City have been added as locations for the Southern California State Championships. So hopefully this means that if we cannot play in Commiefornia that the entire tournament will just move to Arizona, which is already allowing tournament play!

Cancelled and with California not opening up to group activities anytime soon, who knows when we will be back on the fields!

Discussion: States "Re-opening" plans

WE have not stopped hitting since the stay at home orders were put in place, we have just had to find other places to hit, and have had to deal with the police a few times. We will continue to hit regardless of what our state says, not letting them dictate what we do with our lives!

Problem is that SSUSA cannot make the call until the state decides what it is going to do. I heard on the news this morning that the Nevada Governor is going to talk today or tomorrow about entering Phase II, which could happen as soon as Memorial Day weekend. Also, a lot of hotels/Casinos are planning for opening Memorial Day weekend or the following weekend. All good news! I would count on planning at this point in time, the chances of Reno happening are probably better than the chances of any of the June California events happening!

I have a 26 ounce and I prefer some flex in my bats(but not alot). I am going to keep swinging it in BP and hopefully when I get to about 400 swings it picks up in performance. Then again, I am comparing its performance to a 2019 Adidas Melee 12", which in my opinion is the best bat out there!

Discussion: Rock in Reno tournament

OZ, as a born and raised former Michigander, I hope to God you guys vote that dictator out of power next time she is up for reelection! She is giving my home state a bad name, and worse, destroying that states recovery over the last few years!!

That being said, I am still struggling with those that want these tournaments cancelled because they are afraid or unwilling to attend. That is YOUR personal choice, please allow the rest of us to make that same personal choice and decide whether we want to attend or not! Despite all the efforts of the democratic governors in this country, we are still free to make our own decisions! I will attend if we play, if that means bringing a chair then that is what I will do!

I had great initial results with the Easton Empire Ron Parnell, but it has quickly fallen out of favor with me. It is very stiff, and though I now have about 250 swings on it, it has not gotten any hotter. Overall for the money, I would have rather spent a few more bucks and went with the Suncoast 12" Melee!
