No way...your 50!!!!

It seems like only a few years ago Greg Cannedy was "barking out" your 28 birthday "burps".

Our team has Bundy, Gary Roberston, Wes, and myself...Gary Adams was playing till a Higher Power decided to call him up to the bigs.

Alverado started playing last fall ...

The only difference now is....we are much slower, can't bend over, have about three good throws a weekend and....need a uni at least one size larger.

Well.....except for Adair...I am sure those spandex leopard print oneses would still stretch enough to fit....my eyes hurt just thinking about that.

Who are you playing with?

A DeMarini Factory Hitter friend of mine named Rick Damon practiced for hundreds of hours with one of these DeMarini hitting tools....

Now after Rick takes a cut, most of his team mates say Chute....

I have also head...Ricks BP partner is having the same teammate results more often then not....Swing for the Fences ;-)

Would those bats be the H&B Matrix?

That was so bad he didn't swing it.

SSUSA STAFF... One problem with your post about turf fields batters boxes...

Many times they are not the official size of the SSUSA box.

Discussion: where are all the pitchers

My pitching experience is limited to right around when composited entered softball.

I was around 43 years old and the travel/upper game was beyond my abilities so I came home and started playing local ball with my youngest brothers team. They did not have a pitcher so I started practicing...

The first time I started a game we played what was one of the top local B tourney teams...

I walked onto the mound in full catchers gear...you should have heard the laughter....the laughter stopped when they realized the couldn't intimidate me as I pitched and charged the plate (this was a USSSA event).

Over the next five years I was hit often while pitching...and NEVER got mad or expected some "sorry" line from the batter...matter of fact, many times I told them I would aim at a pitcher doing what I was doing myself.

My understanding is...if you pitch your on the playing field...if you don't want balls hit at you...become a catcher or AH. That's not to say I don't like it when batters hit the ball elsewhere.

Now at 55 years old...I plan on doing some pitching again..guess what...full cathers gear will be worn again....

I am happy to read SSUSA will be monitoring their umps enforcement of the batters box....I will bring a tape measure to end any arguements.

If...I do get injured while pitching I will not be screaming at the batter...middle is part of the game.... Balls being hit hard up the middle have been part of the game since I first started playing in 1976....

I have been in more then a few middle wars in my days...if your scared to be hit while pitching/wear catchers gear...if your scared to pitch with cathers gear on...find a new position.

Taits, since your false info was an attempt to slandered GSC...how about you man up and let everyone know the name of the guy that fed you the crap about bat length.

I don't have any vested interest in GSC but....taits you owe it to name the liar.

Yet...for some reason I doubt you will do GSC right and shine light on your informant....maybe you can pretend like your a reporter;-)

This bat crying AGAIN....

All about a bat no one is being forced to buy, and almost no one has played against!!!

And...for the few of you complaining about paying for a bat and not getting it.....if you really want to do something??? have you ever hear of a thing called small claims court... Oh yah....it's so little money it's not worth your time.

Or....maybe paying for a bat you didn't get was money well spent.....it gave you something new to whine about for the last few years.

AdicTIV, I knew I'd like you!!!

Sounds like Turbo? Is also built of the same timber.

It's great to know there are actually other seniors that have what it takes to put down the composites and still be able to play a balanced competitive game.

As for the Viagra thing...thank God! Usually the guys that call me an idiot add the F-U phrase in as well.....

AdicTIV, you sound like a great player...confident in your abilities etc.....

Since I will be playing some 55 ball this season how about if you ever play MTC55 or MTC50 we get together and swing an aluminum bat during the game....then we can see if Viagra is needed...;-)

Rdrman, so your saing if the rule was.....aluminum homeruns do not count towards the Homerun total you'd gladly play?

Oh...one more thing...Did you ask Jose to autograph your uniform?;-)

I thought I played against Jose once but...alas...it was Ozzy. THANK GOD!!!

AdicTIV,

I hate to let you in on this secret but.....You would be at the back of a looooong line calling me an idiot...

Now I understand how frustrating and emotional it can be for some guys when their team gets bumped to Plus so I will give you and your mates some slack.

I can really care less about how good or bad of a softball player you are....I just hope your not one of those that place value in how great you are at softball...after all...driven to be a great softball player has destroyed many life's, and families.

I live by the motto...the only ring that matters is the one on my wife's finger.....

You referred to "you know not what you speak" , yet leave me in the dark on the issue i wrote that you "speakith about"??????

Maybe you can more articulately write to what you speakith?

If you do reply to this.....please use as small of words as possible...us idiots need all the help we can get.

Rdrman66....Doug?

Who would be scared to allow aluminum bat homeruns to not count towards the Homerun totals?

It's a win win...

1) Powerful hitters will most often not swing a composite..less danger

2) All the power hitters you all are crying about going middle can play unlimited homeruns.

My guess is...the only guys that would cry about this "aluminum rule" would be those that need composites to hit home runs.

From my younger days experience usually that guys that say swing what you want, who cares about the rules were either roid users or altered bat swingers.
And Swing....if you don't care what the rules are.....we can always use another Plus team.....WARRIORS.....COME UP TO PLAY..lol

Turbo has it exactly right.

If I could add one rule in seniors it would be any homerun hit with an aluminum bat does NOT count towards the home run total.

What this would do is....reward real home run hitters and...for many of the real powerful senior guys it would get the composites out of their hands much of the time.

So there has been 100s of comments on the dbo rule and the "fear" of pitchers getting hurt.

How about this answer.....if reduced risk of injury to all players IS REALLY the fear.

Instead of crying about the rule, how about teams saying ok...the rule is the rule....to reduce any perceived risk of injury, our team volunteers to SHARE/swing aluminum bats ONLY , in any dbo game as long as the other team agrees.

You see...when the rubber really hits the road...this will show who really wants to reduce the risk of injury and who really..wants to pretend while swinging a composite.

The real sad part of this thread is....I believe to many seniors have become "composite dependent" for many teams to man up to the challenge.

If I am wrong...and the mens division actually agreed to such a thing???

Home runs would once again mean something.

Defense would once again mean something and......

Defensive players would have very little risk of serious injury,

So...to the turbos, Adiktiv, and all the other vocal guys hammering the new rule how about it.

Perl, would your last post be called a........perlJAM...

I am with you......

It's going to be interesting to see who has the talent to stand out with the new dbo rules..

Also...as oddball said.....I have heard from others, very rarely do 65 and up Plus teams reach their home run limit so were really only talking about three age groups.

Discussion: 1 up rule

If you are thinking about 1 up, I think any homer over the one up should be a dbo...and....the Homerun totals should be lowered....

I support getting the non-Homerun hitters and defensive players more envolved with senior ball...having unlimited homeruns hurts the historical playing of softball.
