Doc Romero
Was wondering about Doc Romero.
Haven't played there for a while.
1. Still have the short field in the middle( yardage is?).
2. What are the playing fields like now (grass dirt turf).
Remember that they weren't that great and
no concession stand, rest rooms were terrible.
Thank you for any input!

DOC ROMEO • Three fields, all concentric at 300± foot fence distance ... Natural grass and dirt fields ... Were in excellent shape in April for the Southwest Championships ... Bathroom building is clean, but not as convenient as some places, about 175 yds. from behind home plate of middle Field (#6) ... We will have porta-potty units on site, as well as independent concessionnaire ... Multiple retail and fast food options in the immediate area ... Youth skate park just outside LF of Field #5 limits ability to play divisions that hit a lot of HR's ... Good City of Las Vegas park!

Staff, since it looks like you didn't use the facility,
was this just an observation?
Looked at he master field and game schedule did not see
that Doc Romero was used at the Southwest in Vegas.
Just noting that port-potty used by our wives is a little tough.
Yes, they can leave the park just for that purpose but for $695.
hope the fields are as good as advertised and stay that way with
all the games to be played there. Looking forward to meeting all those who traveled a long distance for this Great Tourney.
Thank you!

CAT,

Doc Romeo (no "r") is a fine facility. The infields and outfields are fine. There IS a restroom there but as staff noted, it is about 175 yards from the center of the complex. SSUSA brings in a port o pottie for those that would prefer a shorter walk.

They also arrange for an on-site concession stand.

The restrooms are about a block away: round trip is 1/5 of a mile! Plan well my friends or give the wife the keys to the car. But this is not the most remote field. Played in a tournament on one field in Turlock, CA, where the ONLY restrooms were 1/4 mile away round trip. More than once a player was late for the start of a game when we played back to back. Prostate problems and far distant restrooms are a real challenge for over 65 players. My team greatly appreciates TDs who provide nearby PortaPotties (thank you SSUSA).
