| Jan. 23, 2017 Turbobob Men's 65 71 posts | Seniors 75 and over allowed to use composite bats? I thought I saw a mention of seniors over 75 being allowed to use composite bats, such as the Ultra 2 (Miken?), but I can't easily find it in any forum. Does anyone know if the SSUSA sanctions doing this so 75+ seniors can remain competitive? |

| Jan. 24, 2017 Fred S Men's 85 297 posts | You may have seen something about an ASA league or a league that bans senior bats but that allows 75+ to use Senior bats. There are a lot of them around. |
| Jan. 24, 2017 Turbobob Men's 65 71 posts | Guys, I saw the bat policy and the approved bats list before posting my question. No where does it mention any bats being "composite" bats. Even the 2017-2018 Rules does not mention anything about composite bats. Am I to assume the approved bats,(with the few listed exceptions) are all composite bats? In our league, we do not allow composite bats, but want to change that for those ages 75+. |
| Jan. 24, 2017 taits Men's 65 4548 posts | But them again you can use the older one like CU31 bats if you choose to. They won't perform well, but are legal. Most were good for their time and balls used then were better. But these days not a preferred choice for bats or balls to for that matter. But everyone is going by the same reues and using the same ball only difference are the bats we each use are somewhat different by make & model. Wood & or Bamboo is out there too. Ok that's all sarcastic but I'm havin a senior moment. |

The following bats have been approved for Senior Softball-USA use: Updated February 7, 2017 Adidas: All Adidas slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. DeMarini: All DeMarini slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. Louisville Slugger: All Louisville Slugger slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. Miken Sports: All Miken slow-pitch softball bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved, excluding the Original Gray Miken Ultra. Monsta: All Monsta slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved. Reebok: All Reebok slow-pitch bats stamped 1.21 BPF or lower are approved.
