Wow, I see that Men's and Women's 40's will play with a 1-1 count with NO fouls to waste. My question is, what was the reasoning behind the no foul to waste rule?
they are testing this format to see what impact it has on time management. not an official rule yet.
Understood. But I can find no one except pitchers that want no foul to waste. That's how they play it in Bullhead City, and it sucks.
dbax......those are the ASA rules and have been for a couple of yrs now....we've been playing them and no one seems to bitch about....oh we also use the 52/300 ball with no complaints.....but hey we just want to play........
It only sucks if you hit foul balls!
Since the parks here play Utrip, I know that even they eliminated the extra foul a couple of years ago.

NSA went from 4 ball 3 strike to 1-1 and fair only after 2 strikes a couple years back as well. Speeds up the game but cannot say I'm a big fan.
Didn't know those other associations went that way. Still sucks.
I like a full count better than 1-1.
However I hit the first pitch that is in any of my zones.
The problem for me with 1-1 is a low pitch that hits the front of the plate, then I have to protect the plate.
I like to unload on the ball and with 2 strikes that is difficult to do sometimes when protecting the plate.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's still underhand right ? Love 1-1 as a pitcher .... if this is such a problem play 5 man infield and 4 man outfield and just hit it off a T........ let's speed the game up lot of money for 5 inning games
