Excellent competition in the 60M+ division. Parity will be the norm throughout the year for this division. Chainlink was a little bit of an unknown prior to this tourney, but no more. Excellent blend of experienced and young 60 guys.

Prayers and blessings for Bob Looney of TopGun after taking one to the forehead on Saturday. Nice shiner and stiches. Played on Sunday and kept the book. What did you expect, Retired Seal.

Except for the wind day, close games with excellent defense by all teams.

50 Major+ Winner

Az Elite ( only Major + team entered in the tournament and they lost to 50 Major winner Rawlings.

50 Major winner

1) Rawlings
2) L A F
3) Az Knuckleheads
4) R M Thunder

Great tournament under less than ideal conditions, wind 20- 40 mph on Friday and Saturday with gusts well beyond that, Sunday was a lot better. The only real issues is why can a Major + team be allowed to stay in the Tournament in Elimination play and be able to send teams home? I understand the seeding rounds.
The Major + team in this case were the champs in their division and still would have been even if they didn't win a game. Just saying

We had to play them 2 out of our first 4 games, first was a seeding game then our second bracket game. We had no issues with it other than not hitting well in either game. That is a really good team and I think playing up can only make you stronger in the long run. Just my opinion......

I think it went:

1)Rawlings
2)LAF
3)AZ Knuckleheads
4)So Cal Vandals

I wanted to congratulate ALL the winners in their respective divisions and give cudos to all the teams that participated in the SW Shootout. I also want to thank SSUSA for their work and to the umpires and their coordinating staff members who helped make the tournament happen.

Would like to give a special thanks to the good folks who gave me rides to/from the airport and the hotel while I stayed in Vegas and California. Bob Romero, Ed Kahle, Glen, Robert & Jason.
Thanks Guys,
Ed Andrews

Bruce I would also like say that your Roadrunner teammates are good bunch of guys and a Class Act team as well. All 16 or 17 teams were evenly match and any one of those could have won this tournament. We had 3 games in a row that went to extra innings that got us in the Championship game. We were lucky because you guys had score about 7 to 10 runs in the top of the 7th the game prior to playing us and it was your 3rd game in a row. Hope you guys will be going to Reno looking to playing you teams again down the road sometime. Tommy thanks for the kind words and yes we will see you in Mira Loma in a couple of weeks also say hello to Martha for me please.

Phillip ... Possibly sometime in the next week or so ... Just got off the plane from Indy to wrap up a 16-day road trip ... I went to Indy directly from Las Vegas and the scoring data came straight back to Sacramento ... First up is the Atlantic Coast (Loudoun County, VA) scheduling then I should have some time to get to the Southwest ...

BruceAZ: Howdy Bruce. Congrats on 2nd place. Had to be fun. You guys going to Reno? We won in Vegas but our team is not going to Reno. Would like to hook up with a team for a gig in Reno.

FOUR GRAND SLAMS, and he told me he hit 3 Grannies Mike, and they were all in a row, and in the same game. Amazing, All I can say is WOW.....Wow, I've never heard of 3 or 4 Grand Slams in 1 game let along hit by 1 person. My man Alvin. And you said that hitting wasn't your priority and that fielding was, but then you never do miss BP do you. You always wanted to be like Joe Morgan. LOL

Okay it was 3 and it was in a row and he would have had a chance for a 4th but Tobin would not stop at 3rd so there were only 2 on when hit a double. 14 RBIs one game, STUDLY.
